Ideas to Make Money Online #1: Blogging

A blog is perhaps the single greatest tool an individual who is looking to make money online can have in his/her toolbox. A blog can serve as a foundation for your talents and can give you a central location online to showcase such talents. Blogging is also a great way to leverage the collective power of the Internet. And what is this power the Internet provides? In my humble opinion, it is its ability to provide a marketplace of ideas where people with common interests can come together and pool their talents and resources.

For professional blogger Chris Garret, blogging has served as a fulcrum for his entrepreneurial success. I highly recommend an article Chris wrote, which discusses just how a blog can be used to fuel your business; Using Your Blog as a Fulcrum

This is also a good site to learn how to Make Money by Blogging, which will give you some more insight into just how a simple blog can be used to build a legitimate online business.

Ideas to Make Money Online #2: Writing Articles

Writing articles is a great way to make some extra cash online and even start a new career. It does not take a background in writing or journalism to be successful at this. If you have experience and skill in almost any profession you possess knowledge which you can share with others. And if you have a platform in which to share your knowledge and ideas with others, then you have an opportunity to make money. There are several models that online companies are using to reward their writers and contributors. Three common models include:

    1. Creating a marketplace for writers to sell their work (Constant Content for example)
    2. Revenue sharing where writers get a percentage of the ad revenue that is placed on the pages where their articles are posted (WikiNut
    3. Revenue sharing with affiliate marketing (Squidoo and Hubpages for example)
    4. Paying writers for number of impressions (how many times an article gets viewed) and frequency o f writing (Examiner.com and Associated Content are examples)

Many websites offer variations of the above models and include additonal opportunities to make money writing, but those are the basic models from which they build upon. The list below will get you heading in the WRITE direction - I couldn't resist!
