Learn How to Protect Yourself from ID Theft
After filling out lots of reports, and several weeks, my bank put the money back into my new bank account, but how could this have happened to me?
From my story you can learn not to trust online payment companies. I had joined a company named Jet99 and they used a payment processor called Mazumah to process member purchases. That was at least 3 years ago and I had not had any more transactions with that company. They had my personal information from that one transaction and when they decided to use it, they hit my bank 4 or 5 times for small amounts before I caught them. They passed the first check using Mazumah for payee, and after that got through they passed more using a different name. I searched for "Mazumah" on the internet and found all the reports from their other victims. This was a huge fraud they were committing, and it still has not been stopped.
Thank goodness, this ID theft didn't cause me more dollar loss. My credit union required me to file a police report for their records and they had me close the compromised account and open a new one. I also reported this crime online to the FTC. Later I will give you the link I used for that.

- Hey Cheryl, I found this site through Stumbleupon and didn't realize that it was yours until I had read the whole page. I've been fortunate to only have $25.00 show up on a band statement from the internet. We never did know if it was a posting error or deliberate but it never happened again. Sorry about the headache you ran into. It's something we all have to be aware of. What a timely lens.
