For the second year running, American Idol and fans helped those who are less fortunate in the United States and around the world through Idol Gives Back.
The second special night aired Wednesday, April 9th starting at 7:30/6:30 central on your Fox network.
On Wednesday April 9th, Fox, American Idol and the Idol Gives Back Foundation presented a second installment of the popular TV event to help children and young people in extreme poverty here at home in the U.S. and around the world.

What did you think about Idol Gives Back?
Fetching blurbs now... please stand byIt was a great way of giving back.
starlyra says:
It's great that people get together to help the needy wherever they live. But i know the fans give back ,the sponsors give back ,but what does americn idol bring to the table?. They set up a fondation and made themselves ceo (Simon Fuller). I,ve yet to see something in black and white.

I thought it was okay, the best part was giving back. I didn't like to see Michael Johns go home the next day either. He was one of my favorites along with David Cook. I thought it was mean that they reminded him they didn't send anyone home last year after Idol Gives Back.

Comfortdoc says:
I think there were a lot of less than stellar moments not in the true spirit of giving back. Perhaps the worst one for me was voting someone off. Last year, they decided not to send anyone home after convincing Jordan Sparks she was voting off. This year, they didn't send anyone home on the day of Idol Gives Back, they sent Michael Johns home the next day, only after reminding him that they hadn't done it last year. With luck, Michael Johns (one of my favorites) will become as popular as another one of the Idol rejects - Chris Daughtry.

Comfortdoc says:
For me two positive moments that stood out were Annie Lennox's "Many Rivers to Cross" and the video for Clean Water Africa featuring Jennifer Connelly. Maria Shriver was inspiring encouraging people to volunteer. I thought Brad Pitt was very humble.
