Although today Idra is generally known for his accomplishments in Starcraft 2, he began his career as a Terran in Brood War. He played for two teams, eSTRO and CJ Entus during Brood War and had a good amount of success in most tournaments. Idra was predicted to win the second TSL however lost to Nony known as Liquid Tyler.

As Idra transitioned into Starcraft 2 change quickly took place. Not only did he switch from Terran to Zerg but also became part of the professional team EG. After playing in the Korean GSL for several months and only making it to the Ro8, he moved back to America where he has had huge success in several tournaments including MLG D.C, IGN Pro League, and 2011 DreamHack Summer Invitational.
