I'm The New King Of Squidoo, Greetings

Here ye, Here ye, I have some news for the Squidoo Community, there is a new king in town, me. Fear not, it's only for a day, but it's going to be a busy day. Now, don't worry, I am a not a cruel dictator come to take away your lenses, or diminish your points or levels, quite the opposite. I come bringing hope and change (hey, it worked for that other guy). I have some proposed changes I would like to make to the Squidoo kingdom that would create even more peace, points, and popularity.

Come, come to the table and let us reason together. I have proposed a Squidoo manifesto whereby you can judge my intentions. I have ideas galore and I invite you to the kings table to discuss them. Come newbies, come Squid Angels, come low level and high, and take a poll, tell your new king what you'd like to see in the Squidoo kingdom. Who knows, maybe we shall see such amazing changes in the the new year or the near future. No need to bow or kiss my tentacle, just take a poll, leave a comment, and share your wisdom. The king has spoken, long live the king.

Have you ever wanted to offer a personal thanks to someone rather than leave a message? Have you ever ever wanted to ask another Squidizen what kind of cheese did that recipe take and did not want to wait a day or two for a response? A chat feature would connect us all in a great way.

I Propose A Likes List Or Favorites List On The Dashboard

I like a lot of lenses. I'm the King, I have to I'd like to easily check back favorite lenses or or at least the ability to create a list of all the pages I have liked and then maybe be able to categorize them. I'm King, I don't don't have time to sort through a long list of comments, likes, and polls. I just want my favorites. Help a King out would ya?

    I miss the fan clubs and the squidcasts, but again, the Squidoo Facebook community is working out well to help me keep track of favorite people and lenses.

I Propose A Trending List on Squidoo

The King would like to know what is hot in the Squidverse. I'd like to know what kind of lenses are being created so I have idea of what train I might want to jump on. I'd also like to know a key word trending list. This way others can find the Kings lenses easier.

    Great idea. I agree. I do like the quests because they trigger ideas, but a trend list is really a good idea.

    This is an interesting concept ... I watch the trends on Twitter, and I am always curious about traffic on Squidoo. Not sure how they could implement this other than the top 100 list that they already do, but it's something to think about.

    On the Squid main page, there is a list of topics on the right. If you click on a topic, popular and a list of fresh pages (recently published) and top performers. Not exactly what you want, but similar.

I Propose A Squidoo App

The King of Squidoo travels a lot. I have an IPad and an IPhone. I'd liked to stay further connected with my Squidizens while I am on the go. I'd also like to be able to make changes, check trending topics, see who's online and chatting. Listen, I hear other kingdoms have such technology and the I believe the Squidoo Realm is app worthy.

I Propose More Points! Points for Everyone!

Kingdoms should reward their Squidizens at every turn. If you +1 someone's lens maybe you should get a +1 point. How about points for engaging in our marvelous Squid U. Although it is a sister kingdom, it would be great to give out points for the hardworking critics, or those who leave tips. In addition, I decree that there should be plexo points. If you add value to someone's lens, you should be rewarded for such brave deeds (Excuse me, I'm channeling my best King Lear at the moment) Huzzah!

    I've still got room to grow and playing squidoo for me is like playing a pc or wii or ds game to my kids. I love collecting monsters and seeing how much I can do to level up.

    Didn't we use to have that before the monster system? Maybe I'm remembering something else. I tend to find that when I find a lensmaster that I like real well I venture out of Squidville to seek where else they may be traveling to, FB, websites, blogs and such. This idea gets my vote

    See? We used to have the Squidcast system, and that rocked. Now I watch both Twitter and the Facebook Community to see who has published what. I also (as I'm doing tonight) like to "Lens surf" by visiting one of the people who left a comment on the last lens I visited. I find lots of new people and see some fabulous lenses along the way.

I Propose A Special Event Card We Can Send For Those Special Times

Did someone get a purple star? Was it someones Lensday? I want to sing Happy Lensday to you, Happy Lensday to you, and maybe get some points for doing so. There are so many ways the Kingdom can celebrate and you know the King likes to party for any good reason. Think of it. Was it your one year or five year anniversary? Did your lens go perfect? Did you become a Giant Squid or Squid Angel? We'd like to join in the fun by sending a card or token. I like to Move It Move it! Let's Party!
