If Your So Smart Why Ain't You RICH

Quite a number of years ago, most probably as a joke, I was given a plastic paperweight with various quips on each of its many flat sections. This lens reflects part of this story which I found incredible as a result of one its panels which simply bears the words 'If Your So Smart Why Ain't You RICH'.

If Your So Smart Why Ain't You Rich

Of all the simple statements I have ever found this is one that can easily upset many people. I first found it on a paperweight when I was in the first few months of being self-employed. Personally I found it made sense to me, although most people I found who like to consider themselves as average did not appreciate the thought this simple passage contains.

In this life we all become that which we want to be, sadly for most this is in fact a failure. The difficulty about this, the impossibility if you like, is that this short adage says it all to these people and of course they don't like it. In no way does these few words say that you cannot change your outlook, of course you can. Question is do you want to? Or it could even say are you smart enough to become rich.

Just consider for one moment that in Britain today more people than ever before are in debt to money lending establishments to such an extent, they pay more in interest charges from their income than any other expenditure including taxes. So just you tell me how smart that is. There is a route out of this what for some will be a never ending nightmare, quite literally an education program of self improvement and personal goal setting to clear all debts, in so doing become both smart and rich at the same time.

Given that very few want to become rich is not a problem but as every single individual would like to be debt free, the starting point for all people is the same. The only variation will be the ideas you look to work for, or in other words, how to become smart as the adage of this title purports. This title could also say that there are only two kinds of people in this world, those busy going somewhere and those busy going nowhere. This adage is just as true but yet doesn't go out of its way to show up the losers. I am sorry but I far prefer winners than I do losers, which is why I give up so much of my time to creating winners.

On a recent TV news program an Olympic Gold Medal winner, a young lady said, "Winning is a buzz and once you do it you want more of it!" Super I would have given her the gold medal just for that statement. We don't hear enough of these inspiring comments and so many times the negative is emphasised such as the dreadful Italian proverb 'Che sará, sará' possibly easier remembered as Kay sarah sarah in the vernacular, which translates to 'what will be will be'. What rubbish, we would all die of toothache and common cold if we believed that. Yet as a song it has sold millions of copies for many singers since Alma Cogan of the 1950's. We all of us know to care for our teeth, prehistoric man did not and dental problems was the biggest killer of Neanderthal man, now we have dentists. The life span of the human race continues to increase owing to advancements in medicine and many more fronts of human achievement.

What is true in this life is that you can learn anything you want to become 'high brow' or 'low brow'. You can learn to swim, play a musical instrument, or even another language or two. You can learn any skill from A-Z just that you have to want to first. When it comes right down to bedrock you can learn to earn far more than you do at present. Most don't want to, so for the few of us who do then the path to such skills is not crowded or congested in any way. Please enjoy 'If you're so smart, why ain't you rich', it is truly the opening to far more education which will make you rich providing rich is your ultimate goal.

Sometimes I'm busy going nowhere but most of the time I'm busy going somewhere. Being rich has never been one of my personal goals. Now if my new book hits the best sellers list... I'm happy and I'm doing what I want to do. That counts too.
