And what happens if you have to move? Or get bored? Or go off to college? Iguanas don't always fare well with a sudden change of owner. So before you decide to buy an iguana, make sure that you'll be able to do it for the next 20 years.

While iguanas aren't the most expensive pet to buy, taking care of them can quickly eat up your funds. Appropriate food, a large - VERY large - cage, supplying heat and light requirements, trips to the vet. Remember that buying the iguana is only the first step - it takes money to care for it, too.

You have to spend time each day taking care of an iguana. They need to be fed and the cage needs cleaning daily.
