I Hate My Boss

I Hate My Boss

My boss is a hateful, evil, moronic cowpat -and that's on a good day. I want to order a hit on her but as I'm too scared to go to jail so I'm using this lens to vent my venom instead. Fasten your seatbelts it's going to be bumpy.

**UPDATE**

I escaped to pastures new 30/11/2008. I have a new boss and he's great. This lens will not be updated again but I'll keep it live to remind myself of past horror. Feel free to vent below if you're still suffering.

I hate my boss because....

I have to hand it to her the woman is an expert in mental torture. Despite having worked in my current job for four years I have never had an appraisal, been given a contract or a job description. This allows her to be 'flexible' so for example on Monday training might be part of my job but by next week she may decide that it's not and never has been. If I protest that she assigned me that task she'll deny it. A few weeks later she'll decide that she has in fact assigned me the task and go insane because I haven't done it. If I protest that she told me not to do it she'll deny it. Then the whole cycle will start again.

Sometimes she won't allocate me any work then swan off to the hairdressers. When I find myself something to do it will be the wrong thing.

But it's not all bad. Sometimes she'll get the notion that I'm a perfect employee and for a brief period I can do no wrong. Then all of a sudden I'm the worst person she's ever had the misfortune to employ.

So you may wonder why I don't raise a grievance against her. Well it's a very small organisation so all complaints etc are investigated by my boss. I could be wrong but I don't hold out much hope of a fair hearing.

You may also wonder why I've stayed for so long. Well for the first eighteen months I could do no wrong then all of a sudden everything changed. There is also the fact that I really enjoy my work. It's interesting, fulfilling sometimes challenging but never boring.

Still enough is enough. I decided this year with some regret that I'm off to pastures new. I've been passing round my resume and applying for every job going. Wish me luck.

The sneaky boss I disliked the most has stepped down and moved to a different store. Hurray! Of course, I can't stand my job, but my co-workers make it all worthwhile.
