I felt the need to copy this information because my sister died of Brain cancer.
In the original lab tests, animals developed brain tumors (phenylalanine
breaks down into DXP, a brain tumor agent). When Dr. Espisto was
lecturing on aspartame , one physician in the audience, a neurosurgeon,
said," when they remove brain tumors, they have found high levels of
aspartame in them".
Stevia, a sweet food, NOT AN ADDITIVE, which helps in the metabolism of
sugar, which would be ideal for diabetics, has now been approved as a
dietary supplement by the F.D.A. For years, the F.D.A. has outlawed this
sweet food because of their loyalty to MONSANTO
(Monsanto, manufactured aspartame!!!)
If it says "SUGAR FREE" on the label-- DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!!!!
Senator Howard Metzenbaum wrote a bill that would have warned all infants,
pregnant mothers and children of the dangers of aspartame. The bill would
have also instituted independent studies on the problems existing in the
population (seizures, changes in brain chemistry, changes in neurological
and behavioral symptoms). It was killed by the powerful drug and chemical
lobbies, letting loose the hounds of disease and death on an unsuspecting
public.
It's up to us to spread the word about Aspartame.

This is an urban myth. There are no scientific studies that prove any of these claims, and in fact there are studies that disprove them. The reason Metzenbaum's bill failed to pass was that it relied on an assumption that the FDA had failed to do its job. But an investigation was held, and no wrongdoing was found. I think I place more trust in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition than vague email forwards that try to scare me. If you'd like to read the study, a free PDF is on the AJCN website (http://www.ajcn.org/cgi/reprint/68/3/531.pdf). Basically, they monitored their subjects' overall health (looking especially for symptoms of brain and behavioral problems), then gave them massive amounts of aspartame, and then monitored them again. There was no difference.

I will never ingest aspartame, and neither will my children. I know there have been official "studies" showing its safety, but think about this. What if it were deemed unsafe? It's in so many products, that the diet industry would go bankrupt! Many top companies use this product, so there is a financial incentive to keep it on the market. DON'T BUY IT! It passes the blood-brain barrier, and that is so dangerous!

The ONLY thing that is absolutely forbidden for my children to eat is anything with Aspartame. No exceptions. We eat very healthy, but certainly, a soda occasionally won't hurt them. Or candy. But, nothing with Aspartame. I really do think it is harmful. Much, much worse than the next baddies - HFCS and Saccarin.

sentence, where methanol toxicity is.
My sister Marcia, died of brain cancer! I feel the FDA played a big roll in her death. Please tell your friends and family the effects of Aspartame, you could save there lives!
