I Love Books
I love reading. If my memory did not fail me, I have start my love for books since I was 7. I will read all my textbooks before the start of the school year. I will borrow books from the library and I cannot stop reading until I have finish the book.
However, I did not continue my love for books when I was preparing for my "O" levels. My grades were not very good and I was forcing myself to spend more time on textbooks instead of story books.
I began my love of reading again when I have graduated from uni. However, I was addicted to non-ficton books this time. I started reading all kinds of with self-help books & books about cats and city planning. Recently, my favourite topics are on internet marketing & business books.
One of my dream was to own a rent/sell type of bookshop so that I could read all day in my shop and earn my money at the same time. I wish it will happen one day.

Interesting book about how they solve problems in their chinese medicine business. I did not have much knowledge about chinese medicine before I read this book. I still will not say that I know a lot more now but this book has gave me some knowledge and how they deal with their problems in business. It was an interesting read even if you find chinese medicine boring.0 points

Other Books
Notes From an Even Smaller Island by Neil Humphreys
Love Neil Humphreys after reading this book and goes on to search for his second book. If you wish to know more about Singapore from an expat that choose to live in the country in a Singapore way, you should read all his books especially the first one. You might die from laughing too hard.0 points
Scribbles from the Same Island by Neil Humphreys
If you have followed to Neil Humphreys articles closely in the local newspaper, then you do not need this book. If you have read his first book, you will think no further and get his second book. He was too funny to be miss.0 points
Final Notes From a Great Island by Neil Humphreys
His last book before he left Singapore. You will read it if you have read his first two books. However, I find that it was not as good or humorous as his previous books. Maybe this time, he has focus more on places to visit in Singapore rather than the culture side.0 points

We have something in common. Love of books. When I saw the title of your lens I decided I wanted to look. My older brother taught me how to read before I went to school. The first grades of school were extremely frustrating for me because I was already reading. "Spot," "Dick and Jane," were very boring. Although, no doubt a good teacher for those who didn't know how to read, my teacher was not a good one for me. Looking back, I should probably have been put into grade 2. My parents owned an extensive library and they passed on their love of reading to me. 5* for this lens, lensroll and fan. Posted January 30, 2008 |
