Why I am SO in love with Google or my compulsive love affair with Google

C'mon...who doesn't love Google? I mean they rule the world and everything. For the first time in history we have a truly benign ruler. Can we ask for more?

I just love Google. The more and more I do on the computer I find that Google has already created something to help me out. I mean they have helped me find myself with Google Maps. And with Google Earth I understand why we need Google Maps.

We have Google Mail, Google Chat, Google Photos...I think they are coming out with Google breakfast cereal soon. All that colorful fruity flavors that all us kids love.

I hoping to star in Google the TV series, or at least get a walk-on role.

The Boring History Of Google.

I totally cut a pasted this from Wikipedia...Please don't hate me

"Google Inc. is an American public corporation, earning revenue from advertising related to its Internet search, e-mail, online mapping, office productivity, social networking, and video sharing services as well as selling advertising-free versions of the same technologies.

The Google headquarters, the Googleplex, is located in Mountain View, California. As of December 31, 2008, the company has 20,222 full-time employees.

Google was co-founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were students at Stanford University and the company was first incorporated as a privately held company on September 4, 1998. The initial public offering took place on August 19, 2004, raising US$1.67 billion, implying a value for the entire corporation of US$23 billion.

Google has continued its growth through a series of new product developments, acquisitions, and partnerships.

Environmentalism, philanthropy and positive employee relations have been important tenets during the growth of Google, the latter resulting in being identified multiple times as Fortune Magazine's #1 Best Place to Work.

The unofficial company slogan is "Don't be evil", although criticism of Google includes concerns regarding the privacy of personal information, copyright, censorship and discontinuation of services. According to Millward Brown, it is the most powerful brand in the world."

Okay, now that we have gotten that out of the way, lets continue on....Whew

I Am Really Inspired By Those Two Kids that Created Google

No, seriously. What a true American Story...Two college kids make it big by creating Google.

I know I have trying a little levity here with this lens. But truthfully I am very inspired what these two kids have done to have created this company.

While many may rail on Google, the fact remains it has become a true American success story. I for one give them a huge thumbs up.

The 2 Major Features I love About Google

Google has so many apps to chose from, but there are 2 features that really stand out for me.

I love Google Knol.

Google defines Knol as "a unit of knowledge."

This feature is their knowledge center. I have used this feature to publish articles that I am interested in. It is very easy to use and the articles get published immediately, which great for article marketing.

I have also found that my Knols get indexed by the search engines very quickly. In minutes in a couple of cases. And I am not just talking about Google, but by Yahoo! and MSN both. Quite fantastic.

The second feature, which I just discovered today is Google Base.

Google base is the equivalent of Craigslist. And like Craigslist you can submit things you wish to sell, buy, review. And you can publish up to 1 million items. You can even upload feeds, which is great if you have an online store, or eBay, etc. Warning: you do need to be a little bit of techy for this application if you want to do feeds.

Both Google Knol and Google Base allow you include links in your postings/articles/classified ads. So these two applications make a powerful backlink for your lenses, websites and blogs.

A Google Account, What Every Business Needs

There is a powerful tool in Google that is wholly underutilized and little known, and that is the Google account

Did you know that you can fill out a profile about yourself and/or business(es) and have promoted all over the web. What a wonderful tool for businesses to have.

Whenever you write an article for Google Knol or make a classified ad with Google Base, or even leave a review of a store or shop, etc your profile is their for every one to see. This an awesome tool for promotion. Many people don't even know that this exists let alone know how to utilze it for maximum effect and profits.

We Squidoo marketers could get very creative if we tried, eh?

I am wondering what other ways you folks could use these simple, basic tools for. Feel free to let me know. I know that I certainly interested.
