Leonardo DiCaprio, the world famous Hollywood star, is also a dedicated environmentalist, as his appearance introducing Al Gore at the Live Earth Concert in New York demonstrated. Leo has, in fact, been involved with environmental causes for many years through his own foundation. He received the Environmental Leadership Award from Global Green USA in 2003. He is a board member of NRDC (the Natural Resources Defense Council).
On 19 May, 2007, The 11th Hour, a feature length documentary about global warming - written, produced and narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio - was shown at the Cannes Film Festival. It opened in the US on 17 August 2007 and was released worldwide shortly after.Buy your own copy of The 11th Hour
