What are LOLCats?
Oh Hai! If you've never heard of the lolcats before, let me explain it for you. Lolcats are basically photos of cats and kittens (also known as "kittehs") with funny captions on them. They come from a place called icanhascheezburger.com, named after the very first lolcat.
The cool things about the site is that anyone can submit their own captioned photos. One of the distinctive things about the captions is that they are almost always misspelled on purpose. For example, let's take a look at a simple question in normal form, then in lolcats form.
Normal: "Can I have a cheeseburger?"
Lolcats: "I can has cheezburger?"

There are many common themes for the captions that people use for their lolcat photos.
CHEEZBURGERS
Cheeseburgers are the staple diet of an lolcat. They are forever craving, pleading for and attempting to steal them. This particular feline is called Happycat, and occasionally re-appears in the Cheezburger archives.

Caturday is, ofcourse, the day after friday and before sunday. This is, without a doubt, an lolcat's favorite day of the week.

Monorail cat is the transportation system provided by an lolcat resting on any kind of wall, fence or side rail. Sometimes it runs out of track or is offline for maintenance.

Lolcats may appear to be shallow, eternally preoccupied with their own taste buds, but some of them are very wise. Some lolcats see and know all, and occasionally pop up in photos to prove it.

With all of these wonderful flavors around, it's no wonder food is such a big deal to lolcats. After a hot, juicy cheeseburger, lolcats like nothing better than to top it off with a cookie.

INVISIBLE THINGS
My personal favorite type of photo would be the invisible series, which shows cats looking like they would be performing an action if something were present. For example, if a kitten was sticking his hand out, the caption might say "invisible handshake", and you would have to imagine another cat in front of him, shaking his hand.
IM IN UR...SOMETHING...
No doubt you are familiar with the internet phrase "I'm in your base, killing your doods". If you're not, do a search, then come back to this lense. Go ahead, I'll wait.
Ok, so now that you know, let me also tell you that the lolcats LOVE this phrase, and use it all the time. Well, they change some of the words to fit whatever crazy situation they might be in. For example, if a kitteh finds herself in a small Barbie plane, she might say "Im in ur plane, playin wif ur barbiez."
