I wrote this poem especially for you,
To prove that my love for you is true.
Squidoo, my dear sweetheart,
You will always be top on my Alexa chart.

Finding you was like winning the grand prize,
Especially when looking into your beautiful eye.
The moment I joined... my heart was sold,
And I knew that together we would grow old.

Squidoo you mean so much to me,
I never ever thought this could be,
To love a Squid as much as I do,
But I found that love. In you.

This lens is a gift, I wrote it for you,
I hope you will love it as much as I love you.

Eternal bliss is where I'm bound,
And in your tentacles is where it's found.

I love you Squidoo.

Reason 1. The things I write get found by people

I don't know how it happens, I don't know what special things go on in the background with bribing "the internet" to make it like me, but the lenses I like are getting found by the right people, and getting read.

The things I write, from weird mind control tricks, to the evils of Coca Cola, to what to buy me for christmas, to my favourite charities, are being read and APPRECIATED.

I think reason number 1 is about appreciation.

I write something, it gets read.

And that makes me, and hopefully the readers, happy.

Reason 2. The web of connection

Squidoo is a Social Networking site.

The lens I make is linked to hundreds and hundreds of other lenses automatically. They link back here. We all link together. Take a look on the side of the lens for the tags. Click one. Discover more lenses about the same topic. Click a tag on one of those lenses, and discover even more. You could do this all day long.

Why is this a good thing, and why is it reason number 2?

    Because everyone is connected.


And when everyone is connected, amazing things happen.

The internet is changing the world, and Squidoo is changing the internet. Bit by bit. Each day.

Reason 3. The money is nice

The first time it was announced by Squidoo, I was her Most Profitable Lensmaster. That means the modules I had on my lenses were making more sales than anyone else was making. I also have other income streams coming from Squidoo, from all my lens visitors. This means Squidoo likes me.

Squidoo, unlike loads of other Social Networking sites, don't mind you selling your own stuff on your lenses. And they encourage it. Heck, it's almost the LAW to sell cool stuff on your lens.

If I am ever in charge I will make it the law to own a lens and to list your favourite stuff on their for sale, with recommendations as to why people should part with their money.

One of the best books I've read is called 'Secrets of the Millionaire Mind' written by T. Harv Eker. You've read this far so you kind of feel like you know me a bit by now, and you will take this recommendation seriously. It seriously is one of the best books I've read. So why not buy it and read it too?

This is why the money on Squidoo is nice. Because I know it's coming from the stuff I'm recommending to people. I can look at my sales stats and see the books that are selling are the ones I've raved about on my lenses. They are also the ones on my own bookshelves.

Squidoo pays you for recommending the best stuff.

Reason 4. I get to help people

I own www.SquidooCool.com, and I write anything I think will help people understand Squidoo just that little bit better, and use it more like a pro. Without them having to spend a year to learn it all like I did.

If you are a lensmaster and you don't find SquidooCool.com useful, I will run NAKED down the street. And film it. And post it on YouTube.

I'm that confident in my blog :)

P.S. Is SquidooCool the longest ever love letter to Squidoo? I think it could well be!

Reason 5. Squidoo paid for my laptop

That's right! She did!

My $2500 laptop was paid for with money I earned online with Squidoo.

If Squidoo did not exist, I would not own this FABULOUS laptop. Not only is it GREEN, but it is one heck of a powerful beast! Thank you Squidoo :-)

Reason 6. Squidoo paid for my PSP

A PSP is a 'PlayStation Portable', and I've wanted one for ages. Then I saw a SquidOffer about PSP downloads, and it had a little picture of a PSP and it tipped me over the edge.

I went to ebay (via an ebay module!), and bought one right that minute.

And I now have it sitting next to me right now.

It was paid for with money I earned from Squidoo.

Squidoo buys me nice presents :)

NOTE: Since writing this... Squidoo has paid for a LOT more! A LOT more!!

Reason 7. Squidoo does amazing things for charities

The lenses we all make, and a share of the money we all earn, goes to helping cool charities like RoomtoRead.org

This video is the first Squidmercial, made by Squidoo HQ, showing some of the cool stuff Squidoo has been able to make happen.
