    Words that lap like waves
    And separate into syllables
Taking me back to the first time
    That I felt rejection
    When someone said
    How could I marry someone
    Of your colour
And I felt my skin separate and
Flow and merge into all its
    Cells
    Seeking freedom

    Umbrella heads in Lygon Street
    Rainy day in my heart
    Messages of love now old
    Silence the only sound
    In this cold, empty house

    Skye why do you lie?
Your eyes dart in the other direction
    Your mouth turns down
    Your cheeks bloom red
    When you lie Skyez

I look out my window, the rain is falling, and the mist is obscuring the view of the road. My mind drifts back to that terrible accident that still flashes into my mind

sadness is to think to much
sadness is to think about loneliness
sadness is to think about life and death
sadness is not worth thinking about
think about happiness rather than sadness

    Feeling sad,
    not worth my time,
    but sometimes can't be helped,
    winter time,
    brings sadness.

    She left
    My heart broke
    My world shattered
    Darkness settled
    Care evaporated

    Trust is lost
    I hit with uncertainty
I lost my words and tears ran down my cheeks.
I have lost my soul and bury in cloud.
  • SadSpam May 22, 2008 @ 1:03 am | delete
    Terribly sad
    It's really bad
    Working under pressure
    I'm definitely lesser
Than the greatest poet in the world

    Alone
    Walking through the room
That once echoed with the laughter
    Of happy children
    A time long gone.

    The day feels long
    And empty
    The flowers I didn't buy
The card I haven't dedicated to you
To thank you for all that you do
    The embrace we cannot share
When the sky is grey and
    I need your warmth
I am old enough%u2026but are you ever?
    But he is younger
    And still needs you
    To encourage and guide
    To nurture
    To mother

    I watch
And wonder at the passing of time
    A baby
    And in a flash
    Woman
    Man
Struggling to find their own paths
    Needing others

    Emptiness surrounds me
    Memories are all around
The laughter that once filed the air
Is drowned out by the deadening silence
    As I sit and stare

    Lost without hope

    Desired change that's constantly denied

Tears that sting but still can't flow

    Shadows of different days linger

I was not familiar with Pablo Neruda's work, not until you spoke of him. Now, after reading some of his work, He is about to become one of my favorites.

Heather, I am a huge fan of Pablo Neruda. His work is deeply inspiring to me. I love this Squidoo page in honor of Pablo. It's a rich resource and also inspiring. I love Il Postino -- what's not to love on this page?
