How to add a link to your Images on Squidoo

In order to combat those nasty spammers, iframes were disabled on squidoo on July 12, 2007. However, all hope is not lost! If you were using iframes for affiliates, pictures, or other static-type content, here is a work around for you!

Insert an Image anywhere in Squidoo

Step one in creating your own linked image

The first step in adding a linked picture to your lens is to insert a picture wherever you want in a lens.

The following code will link an image to your website. This image will need to be uploaded on flickr, Picasa, PhotoBucket, your own site, etc. Currently Squidoo only hosts images you upload into the designated upload boxes. There is no current way that I am aware of to link these images.

The Code:

<img src="http://www.yoursite.com/yourimage.jpg" alt="Image Title" align="right" />

Where:

http://www.yoursite.com/yourimage.jpg - Your Picture Web Address

Image Title - A few words describing your picture

Right - right, left, or center depending on where you want to line the picture up at.

Add a Link to your Image

Step two in creating a linkable Image

The Second step in adding a linked picture to your lens is to insert a link that is attached to your picture

The following code will add a link to your picture on your lens. This link should be wherever you want the viewer taken when they click on the picture (your web page, a bigger version, and affiliate, etc.)

The Code:

href="http://www.thesiteyouwant.com" title="Link Title">

Where:

http://www.thesiteyouwant.com - Where the visitor is taken when they click the image
Link Title - A few words describing your Link

The Final Step in adding a linked picture to your lens is to add a little HTML and put these together

The following code will add a link to your picture on your lens that can be clicked. This link should be wherever you want the viewer taken when they click on the picture (your web page, a bigger version, and affiliate, etc.)

The Complete Code:

<a href="http://www.yourwebsite.com" title="Link Title Here"><img src="http://www.yoursite.com/yourpicture.jpg" alt="Picture Title Here" align="right"/></a>

Example of Linked Image in Action

Here is some Example code of an Image with a URL attached

Example:

I haven't linked my images but it seems like a very good ideal to boost your page rank.
