Just A Few Minutes Ago I found Out What A Reet Numpty I've Been!
This is a short story about someone who feels an idiot. Someone who has spent the last three months doin' her head in. Someone who has just found that 70% of guides, ebooks, courses etc that she bought were all just a few clicks away - and for FREE. In other words, someone who's a right NUMPTY!

And From The BBC Itself
'Numpty' voted nation's best word
Scotland's favourite word is "numpty", according to a survey conducted for a children's charity.
The nickname for an idiot beat more politically correct entries such as "love", "hope" and "family", which were more popular in other parts of the UK.

It All Started A Few Months Ago
You see, I'd been made redundant at the end of 2007 and although I was noo longer needed, I did stay on with the company on a self-emplyed basis to sort out some other bits and bobs for them. That stopped in July.
The reason I mention this is by way of explaining why I have only been doing Squidoo and Internet Marketing for the last few months.
Being made redundant is a big blow to anyone - and I'm sure if it has happened to you, you'll know exactly what I mean. Your whole world falls apart.
I don't think it helped by staying on. But I didn't want to throw away 201 years of hard work by being antsy.
The trouble was I couldn't get my head around doing anything else - although I did know that I wanted to start my own business. At my age I couldn't see me getting another job in IT and I don't feel like working in the local supermarket.
I had a good redundancy settlement, so I should be able to last 12 months or so.
I wish!

Changing Tides
About spring time, daughter number 2 decided she wanted to do a course and finally get going on her own career. But, she had no funds to pay for it and couldn't get a loan or a grant for various reasons.
I naturally offered her financial support to keep her going. This was coming from my redundancy. What I foolishly did not expect was that she would need more than half of it!
She ended up getting a job really quickly and the money looked very good - but then they moved the goalposts. So now D2 has no idea when she will be able to start paying me back.
Oh well. Ce la vie!

Talk about timing!
Next up - the mortgage rears its ugly head.
Here we are - I have no job and no business (yet) and the mortgage is up for renewal. Guess what, they want almost half as much again and won't budge an inch on the interest rate.
Desperate, you bet I am, so I start looking into all sorts of online business options.
I came across some really good training programs, excellent eBay courses and systems, affiliate marketing programs etc etc etc
So what did I do - I bought into them. Do I regret doing that - No. And here's why...

Regrets, I Have A Few
But Then Again, Too Few to Mention (But I Will Anyway)
I'm a great believer in learning from experience. Whatever we do in life, whilst we may be sorry we did it, as long as we have gained from the experience and no-one has suffered, then it can't have been all bad.
In the last few months I have taken in so much information, learnt so much in completely new areas. Realised the vast potential of the internet for making money - and yes, made lots of mistakes. But for all that, I have only one or two regrets.
Regret Number 1 is in not completing the eBay supervisor training course (I guess that should not be top of my list now). I was distracted.
Number 2 is falling behind with the Coaching Program I signed up for with John Thornhill. I just couldn't decide what ebook I was going to write and it held me back for about 4 weeks! (I'm going to write up another lens on making that sort of decision I think).
Number 3 is not sticking with one system before I bought into another. We're always looking for the crock of gold. I'm no different from most people.
Number 4 - not doing enough lenses. Lens writing is fun!
(BTW, I hope I'm not boring you.)

And Just Why Am I A Numpty?
Because during all this time of tearing my hair out, trying to get things together I had most of the answers right at my fingertips and hadn't realised!Because 3 years ago I had signed up for SureFireWealth and forgotten I was still an active member - I thought it had lapsed.
(Something brought me through to the site an hour ago and I was thrilled to see I'm still registered - AND as a lifetime Gold member! So it shows I did do something clever 3 years ago at least!)
SFW has 70% - or more - of all the information I could ever need to get my online business going and more importantly - succeeding.
I could have saved quite a few hundred dollars if I had only taken a look through the site before I set off on my new business venture.
Here is a simple of list of what's available:
ebooks
software
scripts
mp3s
movies
multimedia
templates
niche materials
and what's more you (not me, 'cos I'm already in it) can get started for Free!! And you don't have to upgrade unless you wan to.
You can have your own Blog set up with SFW too.
If you happen to have your own product you can submit that to the site if you want more exposure.
Having a quick look I see there are %8 pages each with 5 Private Label Rights products available to free members - and loads of other stuff. Far too much to go into here.
There are courses you can sign up for - the one on Resell Rights looks tempting, but whilst I must resist, you don't need to.
That's why I'm a Numpty and have wasted so much time these last few months.
The bottom Line Is...
I Did What I Had To Do
Having said that, I have learnt a tremendous amount from all sorts of people in all sorts of niches.
I'm gradually deciding what my niche may be - and I don't have to stop at one; once the first one is up and rolling I can develop another one.
(and I will finish that eBay course!)

In Conclusion
Here are the three programs/systems I have no hesitation in recommending. And eys, they are all my affiliate links, just so you know:
No 1 has to be SureFireWealth - just for being there and its mass of resources:

No 2 is John Thornhill's Coaching Program. 16 weeks of intense study and hard work from which I have learnt and am still learning - fantastic!:

No 3 is the Wealthy Affiliate University. Not mentioned above, but it is one of the membership programs which has so many resources I use all the time that I won't be ingoring it for a long time yet:
