E-Cigarettes Are A Fantastic Option For Quitting Smoking

Smoking is a difficult habit to quit, but electronic cigarettes, also called e-cigarettes, can drastically improve your chances of success.

Smoking cigarettes cuts a persons life span by an average of 10 to 15 years. It kills more people each year than many other diseases combined, and the health risks of smoking are well documented and little disputed. The active addictive ingredient in a cigarette is nicotine, a powerful stimulant. Nicotine addiction is one of the main reasons that people have such a difficult time kicking this habit. Electronic cigarettes have been on the market for several years and appear to offer assistance to smokers to cut down on the harmful physical effects of cigarette smoking.

Cigarettes cause many problems for people, including the dangers of carbon monoxide and tar inhalation, which leads to many heart and lung related illnesses, including cancers and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases. In addition to the health risks for the smoker, second hand smoke can lead to health risks in people who are exposed to the smoke of cigarettes. Children of smokers have a higher incidence of asthma, upper respiratory illnesses, and SIDs. E-cigarettes produce no smoke, so they are safer for you and the people around you.

Even with all the dangers of smoking, many people find it very difficult to break the addiction of nicotine. Not only is it physically addicting, smoking cigarettes has an emotional component as well. People smoke to relax, or wind down, stay awake, or have specific trigger points during the day that cause them to crave a smoke. These trigger points may be upon waking, when drinking morning coffee, after meals, when drinking alcohol, or before bedtime. The use of e-cigarettes during times of critical cravings is a good substitute to smoking.

Using nicotine replacement products to quit smoking, such as the patch, nicotine gum, or lozenges can replace the physical addiction of nicotine, but cannot provide the same calming affects or the habitual cravings of trigger points. E-cigarettes may be the answer for both types of cravings. They are designed to have the look and feel of a real cigarette, but without the flame, smell, tar, or carbon monoxide of a real one. Imagine the ability to smoke without the burns, smell, bad breath, or harm to your health. If electronic cigarettes were used exclusively as a smoking substitute, a smoker could wean from the nicotine slowly and eventually kick the habit.

There are many brands of electronic cigarettes on the market, but they all work fairly similarly. E-cigarettes usually have a rechargeable battery, and atomizer that produces steam upon inhalation, and a cartridge containing nicotine that is inhaled when puffed. The cartridges are sold in flavors and differing strengths of nicotine to fit the needs of every smoker. They have the general appearance of a cigarette that will produce a vapor that resembles the taste of a cigarette. There are many benefits of using an e-cigarette over a real one, in addition to the health benefits of improved breathing, lack of second hand smoke, and improved sense of taste and smell. Additional benefits include the ability to "smoke" anywhere including work, offices, airports, hospitals, coffee houses, restaurants, or nightclubs. Electronic cigarettes produce no odor or smoke, as the smoker enjoys the benefit of the experience.

Electronic cigarettes are generally much more affordable than smoking real cigarettes and provide the smoker with the hand to mouth satisfaction, in addition to the dose of nicotine at a frequency they are used to. Although not approved by the FDA as a smoking cessation aid, there appear to be no health risks in the inhalation of the flavored vapor. In fact, many of the same ingredients used to make the vapor produced in e-cigarettes are those found in medicinal inhalers. Minors or women who are pregnant should not use them, as the nicotine is still an addictive and harmful substance, but as a replacement for cigarettes, electronic cigarettes are a viable and healthier alternative.

Blu Cigs Ecigarettes Review

Honest, unbiased review of Blu ecigarettes.

February 5th, 2011: We are pleased to report that in January, 2011 Blu Cigs introduced a new two-piece design. In keeping with the latest advances in electronic cigarette technology, separate atomizers are no longer required and are now built into the flavor cartridge. The new cartridge/atomizers are fully compatible with all Blu Cigs cigarette-style batteries - a most positive development for Blu Cigs customers who purchased kits prior to the design change. We immediately ordered and tested the new cartridge/atomizers. In accordance with our policy of full disclosure, our review has been edited to reflect the current product. Pricing references and evaluation scores have been revised accordingly. See site for complete unbiased pros and cons review of Blu Cigs.
