Improving Child Care: Ideas Anyone?

When it comes to child care, there is always room for improvement. Here's the best part; all of the resources you need are right at your fingertips.

Learn and Share Information on Child Care

People are moving faster than ever before. When you pack in work, school, exercise and family 24 hours just doesn't seem to cut it anymore. When we eventually settle down from a long day, it's time for bed so we can do it all over again tomorrow.

This mentality, it seems, has reached our daycares. We need to remember to speak and listen to each other when it comes to caring for our young ones.

1. Daycare Owners and Teachers: Engage with your parents. Tell them how they're child is doing. Ask questions, no matter how little the amount of time you have.
2. Parents: The same goes for you as well. Stick around the daycare a little bit longer than you normally would, if only for a minute. Initiate that last piece of conversation.
3. Daycare Owners Teachers and Parents: Listen to the children. Ask them how they feel. What they like and dislike. You would be surprised with how much info you get by asking one question. All you have to do is ask!

I have some really great resources too for Home Daycare Providers and Caregivers on my Daycare School lens. I also teach American Sign Language in my home daycare and we wrote a lens about it too called Sign Language in Daycare School. Children get more one-on-one nurturing and educational development in a home daycare I believe, at least they do in mine! That's why I don't need to advertise I suppose, word spreads quickly from one proud parent to the next.
