"How To Care For Your Loved One At Home" - The Story Behind These Home Care Solutions

Terri at HomeHealthCareBooks.com tells it all - How this former corporate executive became involved hands-on in home healthcare and had to learn the hard way - so You don't have to!

"Here I am, a college educated, self-employed single Mom. Like everyone else, I've endured some twists and turns in this life. So, I thought I was strong enough to tackle any of life's problems. Right?

Wrong! Without warning, and with the impact of a tornado, my life took a turn for which no amount of planning could prepare me.

And Then The Unexpected Happened...

Sirens blaring, a life-and-death hospital battle, a family member disabled and requiring full-time care... You hear stories and think about what it might be like if you're faced with such a dilemma. But you never expect it will happen to you.

Well, I sure wasn't prepared when my father had a stroke, or, later, when my mother had a series of life-threatening illnesses. What do you do first? Where do you begin? How do you cope?

Caring For Your Loved One At Home - Home Healthcare Book and Video

Here's the hand-holding, "how to" guide for Caregivers - The first ever compilation of its type for Home Care Solutions

Terri's motivation to give you the help she didn't have...

"As with many things, time passes and we adapt. In spite of my adapting to the individual situations, it was this series of events that became my motivation to write this book...

What you'll find in this book can be found in numerous locations if you are willing to do the research. Nothing in this book is innovative by itself. This book is a compilation of a variety of topics, many of which I used during my family member's illnesses, and some others that I wish I had known about.

Very simply, what I'm doing is taking the years and years of corporate training that I've conducted, and applying my skills at taking KNOWLEDGE and converting it to a format that's easy to understand as well as provide a long-term reference.

This book contains generic topics that are appropriate to illnesses of all kinds, for young and old, and for temporary to terminal. For your convenience, I've included videos of some of the procedures to make the process more clear.

In addition, I've included state-by-state reference documents to help you find assistance regardless of where you live. All of these documents include suggested Federal agencies and Veterans Affairs programs.

This is only the first of what will become a series of books. Many books will be developed according to the interests of our readers, such as the needs of patients with specific illnesses. We want to hear from you."

Before you go any further, we want you to know this. We are NOT doctors or health care practitioners. We are, however, deeply indebted to those skilled individuals who were such a help to each of us and our families as we experienced the shock of catastrophic illness with our fathers and their need for in home healthcare 24/7, then the illnesses of our mothers.

We had to discover these home care solutions the hard way. We now bring you this book so you don't have to!

Great lens, and very inspiring to read how you dealt with your problems. It really feels bad when you have to buy one of your familiy members or a dear one a wheel chair, but now a days you can also purchase designer wheelchairs for children that can coordinate with their favorite color or design. Being confined to a Wheelchairs may be hard to accept at first, but if you have a wheelchair that is a little more exciting and comfortable, the time may go by a little faster

About Home-healthcare

As a former corporate executive, I was ill-prepared for my husband's heart attack in his 40's. Like the men with whom I worked, I had NO training in health care.

Then there was in-home care for my mother with advancing senile dementia, until it was impossible to do safely at home even with 24/7 care.

And the challenges of selecting memory support and long term care. . . being patient advocate for one who could not speak for herself in hospital stays and rehab, stroking her forehead and singing to her day and night to relieve the fear in the midst of all the pain she could not understand. . . then constant oversight of long term care . . .

Home elder care is tough. The runs to the hospital with Daddy's multiple heart attacks. . . and the one that turned him into a "cardiac cripple" needing in home healthcare 24/7, with me - a single mom putting son through college and trying to support myself - now as primary caregiver.

Congestive heart failure set in. Kidneys threatened to shut down. . . Frigid nights on a cot in the emergency room. . . 15-18 prescriptions in different combinations throughout the day, inoculations, the difficulty and sensitivity of bathing and dressing. . .

And the heartbreak seeing your loved one suffer.

No one is prepared for this. Not my friend whose "big guy" husband has Huntington's disease and is wheelchair bound.
Not my friend whose grandchild has autism.

Not my own 5-month care receiving needs after a freakish accident, the helplessness of not being able to do things for myself, of being on the other side of the fence.

It could happen to any one at any time.

So imagine my delight to meet Terri, whose story you will read at Home Health Care Books & Videos - to be invited to partner with her in sharing vital information for caregivers of in home healthcare, eldercare, child home care, short-term rehabilitative care and long-term care . . .

Guides, videos, resources, "HOW TO" do the myriad tasks and get the needed help, compiled all in one place for you . . . the things we each had to learn the hard way, so you don't have to!
