Best Revenue Sharing Blog Sites

Freelance blogging to earn online income is slightly different than writing articles for a stated pay fee. With freelance writing, you join blog sites such as HubPages, Blogger, Squidoo, Tumblr, and many others. These free blogging platforms allow you to place network advertising, such as Google Adsense, Kontera, Chitika, AdBrite, and others on your blogs. In return, these blog sites share the revenue earned from those ads with you, the blogger. The percentages vary, but most will give you 50% to 60%.I am currently reviewing a few free blog websites that allow you to keep 100% of the revenue generated from your blogs.

Another way to earn money from many of these blogging sites is to refer other bloggers to them through the site's affiliate program. Not all of them have that option, but I will include that information in each site overview.

Here is an example:

Imagine that you join a blog site. You write several blogs and place your AdSense ads on them. Your blogs start to earn a few dollars each day. (There is some more work involved as far as getting traffic to your blog pages, but that is another topic I will cover elsewhere on my website.) Now, you tell your friends about your blogs and that you are making some extra money with them. You send them your blog URL, as well as your affiliate URL, and ask them to sign up under you and to write blogs about their favorite recipes, favorite sports team, woodworking, auto repair, or whatever they choose. When their blogs earn money, you get a small piece of the earnings; about 10% is usually normal. So, if you have a friend or co-worker that turns out to be a super blogger, and starts earning $500 a month from his/her blogs, you will get an extra $50 in earnings.

I've listed my favorite blog sites below. All of these site have 1000s of members and daily visitors, so your pages get plenty of traffic. And as you know, traffic equals money.

If you want to start earning money from your blogs, the first site you should join is Blogger.com I say this for a few reasons. For one, Blogger.com is owned by Google, the same people who own the advertising network known as AdSense. Google is also the number one search engine in the world today. At Blogger.com, you can also increase your revenue by signing up for the Google Affiliate Network. Earn referral fees from companies like Verizon, Target, Kohl's, Sears and OfficeMax when your readers purchase items promoted on your Blogger.com blogs.

I was introduced to HubPages a few days ago. This is my launching pad into the world of online writing. This is also where I found out about sites like Squidoo and Blogger, along with many others. HubPages shares 60% of the revenue your hubs produce. Advertising included is Google AdSense, Amazon, eBay Partners, and HubPages own ad program. Payout threshold is fairly low and should be easy to achieve. I also like that they use PayPal to pay you your earnings. If you haven't joined HubPages yet, give it a try. It's fun checking my account every day and seeing money that was not there the day before.

Squidoo is another good free blogging site where you can post lenses (like blogs or hubs). Having an Adsense account is not neccessary at Squidoo, as their AdSense ads are automatic and they share the revenue earned with you. They also use Amazon and eBay ads to help you earn even more. The Amazon and eBay ads are adjustable and can be placed in accordance with your other modules to maximize selling potential. Squidoo uses PayPal to process payouts and the threshold can be adjusted to your comfort level. Squidoo has a great community and an easy to understand layout.

Infobarrel is another good revenue sharing blog site where you can earn money writing good quality articles. You will need your own Adsense and Chitika accounts. Infobarrel is very simple to setup and use.

The key to earning money with any blog site is to get traffic to your blogs and get a good ranking in the search engines. Once you have achieved this goal with InfoBarrel, your blogs will continue to earn money for a long time. You can ru AdSense and Chikita ads on your blog at the same time and they seem to co-exist very well. InfoBarrel has a great community of writers and the quality of the site is top-notch. Revenue sharing is 75% to you, the publisher, and 25% to InfoBarrel.

One downside for some bloggers is that they must have their own AdSense account in order to earn money. This is bad news for anyone who can't get approval for an AdSense account, or those who have had their accounts banned for some reason Another negative point for InfoBarrel is their payment threshhold is $100. For many bloggers this will mean a long wait before they have earned enough money to cash out.

Create your own Top 3, Top 5, Top 10, or Top ? list at Best Reviewer. Blog about your "Top ?" favorite hobbies, websites, airlines, hotels, football teams, or whatever you choose. There is plenty of traffic to see your "top" list and you get to keep 100% of the AdSense revenue generated from your Best Reviewer "top" blog. Increase your earnings by referring other bloggers through your own Best Reviewer referral links and banners. This is also a great place to create links back to your Squidoo lenses.

Recently I learned about Wizzley. This is another free website allowing authors to publish their writings as a one page article or blog. Wizzley is very similar to HubPages because authors must have their own accounts with AdSense and Amazon to earn money from their writings.

Wizzley currently has a PR of 4 and is growing stronger each day. I have watched their Alexa rank increase from 41,209 to 40,872 in the span of one week.

Personally, I believe Wizzley will surpass HubPages in popularity, but will probably never be a serious threat to Squidoo. I say this because Wizzley does not allow authors to promote their own affiliate offers such as Commission Junction or ClickBank, while Squidoo does.

The earning opportunities at Wizzley include AdSense, Chitika, Amazon, Zazzle, AllPosters, and a share of referral's impressions. New members receive 50% of page impressions, but this can be increased to 60% just by publishing the required number of articles. Member's can also receive 10% of the impressions on their referral's pages. This 10% comes out of Wizzley's share and does not take away from the referrals' 50% or 60%.
