CPA, or Cost Per Action, is advertising a product for which you will receive payment when someone completes required information. This required information can be a form submission, contact information, or purchase. Publishers can oftentimes earn $1 or more per action completed.
CPL, or Cost Per Lead, is promoting a product, for which you will receive payment when an interested party submits their contact information to a company. This is considered a lead and usually only requires the consumer provide basic information.
Oftentimes, companies will pay a few cents just for generating clicks on the company's ad.

There are many legitimate companies work with. Two of my favorites are Maxbounty and EnvyUs.
Maxbounty, with net 15 monthly always on time payments, offers three payment options - ACH, Check and Paypal. With CPA or CPL, I find the greatest interest comes from Facebook, Twitter, forums, and other social networking sites. This form of earning income at home can be lucrative, but you must target your campaigns effectively.

Affiliate Marketing is an online avenue in which companies pay for actions such as a visitor making a purchase or filling out a form. Basically, it is when a company issues a "finders-fee" for the individual who publishes information that results in sales or leads for a company.

There are hundreds of options for publishers to choose products or services to promote. If you enter "affiliate programs" in a search engine, you will see that there are many companies to choose from, in fact, you may want to sign up with all of them so you have your pick of products to advertise!

According to Affiliate Marketing Gurus, there are 3 "types" of article marketing strategies.

The following three methods are oftentimes interchanged and used together to boost your rank and position in search engines. This is oftentimes FREE, as article submissions are free with ezine articles and similar article sites. Your landing page can be a blog, squidoo lens, or if you choose to pay for your landing page, website hosting is about $5 per month and the cost of a .com website is around $10 per year.

• Direct article marketing links each article directly to the page that you are promoting.


• Article marketing for traffic points to a "landing page", which then directs the customer to the product you a promoting. A Landing Page can be a page on your own website or blog. The goal here is to promote your landing page, coaxing the reader to click your links. Once they arrive at your landing page, the idea is to convince them to take whatever action you want them to take, whether it is form submission, purchase, newsletter subscription, etc.


• Articles for Backlinks. The third type of article marketing is when you submit articles in order to receive backlinks to your landing page. Backlinks help your web page rank better in Google and other search engines, which is one of the best ways to generate traffic to your website.

One perk of article marketing is that you can create an article that not only contains a link to the product you are promoting, but also to your own personal website, blog, or lens. By doing this, you are using a form of Search Engine Optimization, or "boosting" your website up closer to page 1 of the search engines.

Blogging can include creating a blog, or journal, to present information to your readers. It also can be done with Squidoo lenses or Hubpages. There are many different avenues of blogging that can allow you to earn a great deal of money. You've heard about all the bloggers out there. They aren't all doing it because they love to write. Some are... but many are doing it because they love to write, AND they can earn money while doing it.

Monetization encompasses many of the methods listed in this lens. While Blog Monetization requires more time and energy, it also allows you to gain your reader's confidences. Because of this, you will have more opportunities to suggest great products to them which can turn into clicks, and potential sales.
The most obvious way to drive readers to your products is through advertising text or banner ads for various products or services. This is where some of the other methods come in. You can earn with CPA or CPL campaigns as stated above. You may have luck promoting products related to your blog posts. There are many products, services, and digital (or e-products) available through many avenues as I will discuss in a later module.
Another possibility is to use Google AdSense, for which you enroll in order to enable text, image, and video advertisements. The advertisements are administered by Google and generate income on either a per-click or per-impression basis. In other words, as your readers click on Adsense advertisements seen on your blog, and you earn a few cents per click or view.

Another area of affiliate marketing includes product reviews. Create a blog or website dedicated to an area of interest as stated in the Blog module above. Research the product(s) or service(s) you are interested in reviewing and provide the pros and cons for each. It is important to include products/services in all cost ranges.
When I have had product reviews in the past, oftentimes my top rated product doesn't sell as well as my number 2 pick. This is because the number 2 pick is often a little bit less than the top pick. One tip is to be sure that you do not speak negatively about any of your reviewed items. Potential customers don't want to be told that what they are considering is no good. The best way to convince customers to purchase certain goods or services is to validate their need for an item while at the same time, providing good, honest reviews of products they may be interested in. It does no good to slam one product to boost other products as this tends to alienate customers who were strongly considering that product. Instead, convince them why these products are the best. And don't include too many products to consider. I usually recommend 3 products in one review article.

This is the age of electronic communication which is why E-books (Electronic books) are increasingly popular ways for people to learn more about a particular subject.
The cost of self-publishing are incredibly low and whether you sell hundreds of copies of your e-book or just one, the cost of producing the ebook remains the same as your initial cost to produce that first copy.

The tricky part is getting started. The easiest way to begin is to write about something you are familiar with. If you are great at woodworking, you may want to write an e-book on how to make a rocking horse. If you have been through the struggles of infertility, you may have a lot of great insight to share with readers about what got you through it and what techniques you used.

Your e-book should contain enough content to warrant charging for the download. If you don't have enough information, it is best to promote it as a e-newsletter, charging less for it or even requiring only an email address submission to allow yourself to build an email list to promote products related to your e-newsletter.

You can create your own website or blog to publicize your e-book, including articles on the subject. This gets people interested in your topic. If you provide your readers with valuable information, it is highly possible to gain a sale from the writer-reader relationship. If you do not plan to self-publicize, consider promoting your ebook to other website owners or bloggers who will advertise your e-book for a commission.
Clickbank is a reputable 3rd party to promote your e-book to publishers who might be interested in earning a commission for selling your e-book to their readers.
