The lifeblood of any Internet marketing business is definitely the amount of targeted website traffic that it gets. The quality of your product, aesthetics of your web page, price point or even title of your product won't do you any good if you don't have get traffic to that website. They are online (or offline) looking for a product or service similar to yours to help them solve a problem. They are "solution seekers" not tire-kickers. They will definitely subscribe to your list, buy your product and frequently visit your pages and read your newsletters and blog posts if you happen to be "the medicine man" that they have been looking for.



With the tips shared in this page, you should be able to hunt for and create a path to your website that these visitors/prospects/customers will be more than willing to walk on and see what you have to offer them.

The Foundation-Do Proper Keyword Research

The first step in getting targeted website traffic is getting to know your targeted visitors. In essence, you should know what they are searching for online, the keywords they are using and other such things.

Once you know the keywords and phrases that they are using, it is now time to use those as the pillars of your targeted website traffic generation campaigns.

Article Writing and Marketing

Call it "article marketing", "bum marketing" or whatever you want to. I simply prefer to refer to it as "the proven method for recurring and targeted website traffic."

Artile marketing as a way to get traffic to your website is based on the premise that if you create quality content that is related to a certain niche market, then the members of that market segment will undoubtedly look up to you as an expert or at least a knowledgeable fellow in that field. They could in turn, want to learn more about what you have to offer as related to that topic of common interest between the two of you and they could ultimately buy from you.

So, the whole bum marketing idea, as others would prefer to call it, is to:


  • Do Market Research by using the keyword tools above to find out what they are searching for and are wanting to buy; and

  • Write Articles that answers some of their questions, introduce them to some related products or services

  • Lead them to Your Website by including a compelling bio box (author's blurb) at the end of the article with a link to your site.

  • Sell Them on what you have to offer. The products, programs or services should of course, be relevant and solve a problem or satisfy a need or want that they have.



You will of course have to submit these articles to such article directories as:

and similar ones.

Once they get approved by the editors and get published, you get be getting targeted website traffic for as long as the articles are online, which would be a long time, unless you take them down.

And that is it. The articles that you write, if qualitative and appealing, could be republished by tons of webmasters and bloggers online, thereby driving even more targeted traffic to your website.

If you can do this consistently, you can make more money than many white collar workers offline. You just have to it right and consistently.

Participation in Niche Forums

Every niche market-interest group, sports lovers, group of solution seekers-worth its salt will have a "meeting place" of some sort online. This is usually known as a message board, community site or a forum (the most popular of the 3 terms).

At these places, they share their problems, collectively seek for solutions and provide support for each other. If you can become "one of" them and make yourself useful by providing useful and usable information and be an indispensable member, then you have carved for yourself a name on the marketing rock. All you have to do now is point them to your website or affiliate product which provides solutions to their needs.

A simple process for doing this is:


  • Find Them by searching for them on the Google, Yahoo! and other search engines. For example, if you are looking for fly fishing enthusiasts, simply search using the keyword phrases "fly fishing forum", "fly fishing community" and similar ones.

  • Join them by signing up as a member.

  • Observe first by noting which topics are constantly being talked about

  • Establish yourself by making useful posts, answering questions that you the answers to

  • Pull them to your website by putting your website link in your forum signature and your profile page.


It is as simply as that.

One caveat though: NEVER scam them. Members of forums are very sensitive and if you even if you slightly try to scam them, you are done for good. Your bad name will spread in that and other forums like a wildfire in Fall. On the other hand, you could be getting a lot of targeted website traffic if you do the right thing.
