Mixing Up Calories to Increase Metabolism

Ok. The only way you will be able to easily stick to this kind of eating habit is to PLAN AHEAD! I needed to get that out first.

What you will need to do is cook your food in bulk for the days ahead; basically your meats and the other foods that take longer to cook so that when you're ready to eat, you don't have to wait long.

Buying a variety of fresh vegetables will help mix up your diet and because veggies don't take much time to steam. You can have a different one at each meal.

Fresh fruits are something else to add to your meals.

By pre-portioning your food, you'll be less likely to stop and grab some unhealthy "quick" alternative because you will already have a healthy meal prepared.

This also makes eating frequently more easy.

So How Does Eating Different Calories Increase My Metabolism?

Well, I'm glad you asked. :)

First of all, by eating meals more often (5-6 times a day depending on your individual needs), you body can constantly burn calories. It will never stop running, never slow down, never crash.

Imagine how nice THAT would be!

By fueling your body with the proper foods, your energy levels will be sustained, your moods will be more level, and you won't have those unwanted cravings.

So by preparing your food ahead of time, you have no excuse to NOT eat, no excuse to grab something quick while you're out, and no excuses on how confused you are about what to eat. Your quick fix will already be packed up and ready for you!

Meal Planning Ideas to Increase My Metabolism

It's important as well to change up your portion sizes but do not overeat. Eat more veggies than meat or more healthy fats than veggies- whatever you prefer that day.

Now I just want to give you a few great meal planning ideas to get you thinking.

Oh and the serving sizes here will need to be adjusted according to your individual needs- just had to throw that out there.

For breakfast:
1 cantaloupe half with 1/2 cup 1% cottage cheese

Mid-morning Snack:
2 hard boiled eggs and one medium-sized orange

Lunch:
chicken pita pizza: whole wheat pita base topped with 3 oz chicken breast sliced, sauce, 2% mozz cheese, diced peppers

Afternoon Snack:
one cup lowfat vanilla yogurt mixed with 1/4 cup Fiber One cereal and 1/4 cup pecans

Dinner:
chicken fajitas: whole wheat tortillas, chicken breast, onion, peppers, salsa, low fat cheddar, low fat sour cream, guacamole
