The classic Bill Bixby TV series was the forefather of the modern superhero movies. It used the premise of the Incredible Hulk comic book, but the show itself was a drama created for an adult audience. The more recent Hulk movie was based on this television show, while the earlier (crappier) version was based on the comic books. Although the premise is the same, there are a lot of major differences, most having to do with the Hulk's size. The comic Hulk was as big as building and could jump across canyons. The TV show Hulk was maybe 10 feet tall and just ridiculously strong.
