the Make Yourself Foundation.

It's worthy.

In 2003, Incubus started the Make Yourself Foundation (MYF), a non-profit organization that hosts charity events and donates the profits to worthy causes. The band also gives a portion of its royalties from tours, albums, auctions, etc., to MYF. Notable achievements of MYF: donated $100,000 to the Red Cross for the 2004 tsunami victims and its recent involvement in the Stop Global Warming campaign. MYF has also donated funds to Carbon Neutral, Sweet Relief, Save the Music, Break the Cycle, Operation Smile, and many others.

While MYF does not accept personal donations, you can purchase MYF shirts, bid on Incubus auctions, or buy special Incubus bootlegs to help support their cause.

For more information, visit the official website.

Brandon Boyd.

Lead Singer.

Born Brandon Charles Boyd in Van Nuys, California, on February 15, 1976, Brandon Boyd is the son of Dolly and Charles, both of whom worked in the entertainment industry. He also has two brothers, Darren and Jason, who is the lead singer of Audiovent. Brandon was raised in Calabasas, California, and graduated from Calabasas High School in 1995.

Brandon met Jose Pasillas in elementary school, and in high school, he was asked to join a band formed by Jose, Mike Einziger, and Alex Katunich, who is more commonly known as Dirk Lance. They played neighborhood shows, quickly becoming popular. When it came time to pick a name for the band, Boyd offered the name "Spiral Staircase." However, they ended up using "Incubus," which some say only occured because it had the word "sex" in the definition. Boyd advertised the band's shows with hand-drawn posters.

Boyd says his creative mind first came to being after he smoked his first joint with older brother Darren. Since then, he has continued to create, even publishing a book of his poetry, ramblings, and drawings, titled White Fluffy Clouds.
