I am amazed that so many people around the globe, like Indian food. I thought it was too hot and spicy for people other than Indians. The world is turning truly global, when we consider the food habits. For eg. I love pizza, cakes, puddings and burger which have originated from west. I also like Thai and Chinese. I do not want to stop at that, I want to try and taste as many recipes possible from different parts of the world.
  • darciefrench Mar 14, 2011 @ 5:04 pm | delete
I love Indian food, but don't like to cook. When we lived in Mission there was a curry express place down the road with a dozen samosas for $5. LOVED that place- almost enough to move back there -:)

  • Pukeko Oct 1, 2010 @ 5:07 am | delete
Yum, some of these recipes sound great. I think I will be trying the butter chicken first, if I can find out what jeera is, and how to get it (or what I can substitute. .
  • Rajays Oct 1, 2010 @ 6:08 am | delete
Jeera is the Indian word for Cumin. Butter Chicken is a great dish to start with - most people enjoy the rich creamy texture and flavor of the gravy.

I can't wait to give the Aloo Gobi recipe a try! Thanks for sharing a bit about Indian flavors and spices. • kiwisoutback Aug 30, 2010 @ 9:58 am | delete
I haven't had much Indian food at all. I think just once in California, and I was told the dish I ordered wasn't well prepared. I'd definitely give it another shot, granted I find a good restaurant (they aren't as prominent in New England as on the west coast on in New York).

I love eating curry at any time of day. I think people often have a misconception that curry is unhealthy - it doesn't have to be. As one of me lens explains, I have lost a good amount of weight over the last 6 months and I eat curried type dishes at least twice a week. Keep up the good stuff, more veggiw curries please.

I'm used to eating curries in UK (most varieties), Hong Kong (very tasty)and Thailand (rather 'samey'). CM curry shops are bland so I want to try making my own curry with your help.Thanks.
