I will keep updating the lens but I need your feedback to improve.

If there is some thing else you want to know or want to feature here dorp me a blurb. I shall act upon it at the first chance available. Thank you for visiting my first ever travel lens.

From the lens Top 10 Hill Stations in India.

I will be traveling to some of the hill stations mentioned here that I have not already visited. Nainital is next in my itinerary. I will get back with more Pics and stories about it. I also write about travel trade in many of my blogs. There are more of beautiful places to visit on my Indian Destinations and Festivals blog.

Thank you for sharing these! I am familiar with a few of these hill stations, but not many. I hope to travel to a hill station when I visit India. It is on my list! :-)

You are really very lucky that you travel Jammu and Kashmir. Actually I am very desperate to visit this heaven but I didn't able to make it yet. But definitely I will visit there soon.

Hey! Why have you not included Munnar as one of the top 10 hill stations in India. It is the second best tourist destination in the world. Get more info from http://mykeralatour.in/kerala_hills.asp.

What a useless list it is. I think you probably don’t travel enough still now. You put gangtok instead of pelling/yumthung from sikkim.. ohho..how silly! No name from garhwal himalaya.. do you know what garhwal himalaya is?... ever heard the name of chopta, auli… ? ever seen the sunrise from pouri/ khrshu ? ever think of trekking to gangotri/ tapoban/ nandanban/ hemkund saheb…..? and this amerture type of idiocy doesn’t end here… you pick nainital from kumayun range ahead of kausani, munsiyari, mussoorie… ohho . do you know thhere is a place in west bengal near assam border called dooars… just go there .. take a trip to jaldapara reserve forest.. experience group of rhinos in the background of great himalaya with rising red sun, , sitting back of the elephant.. and then create a list… all the names you mention are beautiful.. but you left out some golden name and that make your list a complete joke. Travel yaar.. travel whenever you get time, try to explore small unknown places… I think one lifetime is too short to cover this incredible [ in term of tourism only!!] india…

oh.. I am glad you have traveled so much. but that did not help soothe your arrogance. BTW did you even know what is the difference between a view point, a hill and and hill station? You better start reading while I start traveling. Funny Fucktard. And someone needs to drill it into your stupid head that Rhinos dont live on hills. This is a bloody lens of top 10 hill stations. It takes into account number of incoming visitors as well. It also tries to cover the whole of in India.

Here is another advice. When you read something ,put your arrogance away. Empty your brain a little then only you will be able to learn. You cant add to a full cup.

I don’t know whether my comment is so arrogance or not [if it is so, and hurt your sentiment then sorry], but atleast I know how to behave with other, how to use language properly. AND it is always easy to empty your brain when it contains nothing.. sorry I’m not in this category like you. Try to recollect some minimal social lession you learned in your childhood. Get well soon..
  • passionate_traveller Nov 24, 2010 @ 12:49 am | delete
so you think kausani, munsiyari, mussoorie, auli, pelling , pouri , khirsu are hill/ view points and not hill station..!!! .LOL!

I repeat - learn to read. "This is a bloody lens of top 10 hill stations. It takes into account number of incoming visitors as well. It also tries to cover the whole of India."
I had to repeat it again since you could not read that. You would not be reciting your suggestions if you had read this line. You ca rest assured that I have seen more of India than you have. If you prove any of the hill / view points / hill stations you mention have more visitors than the hill station I have covered in that particular area, I will add your suggestion to my list and credit you for that on my lens as well.

I would also request you to attempt to understand that this is a list of "top 10 hill stations in India" and not any thing like top 10 hill stations of uttaranchal and north east. I have to cover the whole of India. Lists - i repeat need some criteria behind it. Do react to your emotions or what limited places you have visited and think they are the best places in the world.

Hello, my 10 year old son and I are visiting Delhi either this july or august. we would like to go to the mountains for about 4 days to see some old temples and monasteries, beautiful landscapes, maybe a waterfall and do something a little crazy like zip lining.
    Where would you suggest?

Shillong and Darjeeling not on the list.....? , Munnar and Mahabaleshwar on da list (Tea estates n climate in da case of Munnar), then why not Darjeeling ? Its not just about cool climate , snow capped mountains or da total no. of tourists who visit, unique landscapes, cleanliness , average yearly temperature sud also b taken into account . In da recent survey by times Shimla came out as da dirtiest hill station in india , also in da list was Nainital. In regard to da unique landscapes , Shillong is da only Hill station with Scottish type hills and is by far the cleanest and the most happening (there's so much to see in and around Shillong and Meghalaya in whole).

I had another agenda while covering the whole thing - wanted to cover as much India as possible. Gangtok is too close to Darjeeling. So covering two of them together was a hard decision. I had to choose between the two and I choose Gangtok.

Nice list of hill stations. I just created my lens after visiting Sikkim. Nice place to visit. I am also planning to go to Tawang.

    Awesome pix!
I think you also must include Mussoorie in list of hill station.
As it is one of the most beautiful hill stations in India.
Well, I never heard about Gulmarg, which is looking very good in pix.
