Indian Premier League Hyderabad Team is part of the 8 team cricket league newly launched by the BCCI called the IPL or Indian Premier League.

The owners of teams include such worthies as Mukesh Ambani, Vijaya Mallaya, Ness Wadia, Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, Lachlan Murdoch, Juhi Chawla. Business Houses like India Cements and GMR Holdings and Deccan Chronicle Group.

Deccan Chronicle the media group bought the Hyderabad franchise for $109 million dollars for the next 10 years.

IPL Hyderabad will play 14 league matches against the other 7 teams in home and away matches.

The teams leading in points will play the semis and finals in Mumbai.
