Char Minar

Charminar is a famous heritage monument of India situated in Hyderabad. It was built by Quli Qutub Shah in 1591. It is also called as "The Arc de triomphe of East" and is one of the most legendry work of architecture in the era of Quli Shah.

Charminar has 4 intricately carved minarets. It is located in Lad Bazaar of Hyderabad. You can visit to Hyderabad by flights, roads or by train. Hyderabad is well connected to almost every part of India.

India Gate

India Gate is a magnificent historical monument in Delhi, the capital of India. It is 165 feet in height and has an arch of 138 feet that attracts tourist. Amar Jyoti, which burns day and night, is a memorial to brave soldiers who lost their life in Indo-Pak war in 1971. It was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and it was completed in the year 1931.

It is one of the most famous tourist spot in Delhi.

India Gate is popular among local citizens of Delhi as well as an picnic spot. You can enjoy boating in the lake or enjoy local snacks such as Pani Puri etc. Beneath India gate, there is Children Park which is very famous among children.

Gateway of India

Gateway of India is a famous place in Mumbai, the financial capital of India. It is huge basalt arch of 26 meters near the south harbor. It has a mixed Indo-Saracenic architecture with the central dome 15 meters and 26 meters high.

Gateway of India was designed by British architecture George Wittet in 1911. It was completed in 1924 and was opened to public on 4th December.
Elephata Caves is another good place to visit near Gateway of India.

It is located in middle of pool that symbolizes the combination of Nirgun and Sargun. People of all religion visit Golden temple.

Fatehpur Sikri

It is said that Akbar built this city in honor of Saint Shaikh Chishti. As the saint lived in Sikri, the city was called Fatehpur Sikri. It was built in 16th century and was the capital of Mughal Empire for 10 years. There are many excellent monuments and temples in the city.

This city remained ignored for many years until Indian government took care of it for preserving historical culture of Fatehpur Sikri. Jama Madjid in Fatehpur Sikri is largest mosques of India which was built in 1571 A.D.

It is near Agra, well known for Taj Mahal, so tourist visiting Agra does visit this place often.

Akshardham Temple

Akshardham temple in Delhi is the youngest tourist place in India based on the date of completion. It is the 20th century monuments known for its majestic appearance which is enough to astonish any tourist. Akshardham temple is dedicated to "Saint Swaminarayan".

Built in an space of over 100 acres this temple consists of 234 ornately carved pillars, 9 domes, 20 quadrangle shikhars, a Gajendra pith and around 20,000 statues of Indian devotees and saints. Pink sandstone from Rajasthan and white marble from Italy has been used in making of this temple.

You will find huge rush on weekends so it is better to visit on weekdays.

Red Fort

Red Fort is the evidence of freedom of India and history of India. Situated in Delhi, the capital of Delhi, Red Fort is one of the most important heritages of India. Red Fort was the home of Shahjahan in Mughal Empire. It is situated in front of Chandni Chowk market in East Delhi.

It is made up of Red Stone as the name suggest. It is spread in a large area near the bank of Yamuna. It is also known as the place where Independence day and Republic day of India are celebrated. Last Mughal Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar was the last emperor who lived in Red Fort.

Qutub Minar

Qutub Minar was built in 1199 by Qutub-ud-Din, however it was completed by Iltutmish. It is believed that this was made to signify the Muslim rule in India. It is 72.5 meters tall and there are 379 steps from ground to top of the tower.

Iron pillar is situated in the campus of Qutub Minar and is known for its mystique creation. It is said that this pillar is made up of combination of 8 elements, but it is 98% wrought iron.

Taj Mahal

Any tour to India cannot be completed without visiting Taj Mahal in Agra. It is the magnificent monument which is one of the seven wonders of world. It is known as the symbol of Love and was made my Shahjahan in memory of his wife Mumtaj Mahal. It took around 10 years to complete and it was completed in year 1648.

Taj Mahal is situated on the banks of river Yamuna. It is undoubtedly the most beautiful buildings of world. Made up of white stones, it looks most beautiful on full moon day. Taj Mahal looks pinkish during dawn which changes to pure white as day grows and then slowly it changes to grey shade.

Sanchi Stupaa

Sanchi Stupa is a great example of ancient Buddhist architecture of India. Great Indian emperor Ashoka built these structures. These stups are situated 46 km form Bhopal. These are hemispherical dome structure with a central chamber in which relics of Lord Buddha were placed.

Nearby you can visit museum of Archeological survey of India where you can see artifacts from Buddhist era. Vidisha is a nearby place to visit, famous for beautiful landscape.

Udayagiri and Khandagiri

Udaygir and Khandagir caves are situated 6 km from Bhubaneswar, the capital of Orissa. These caves are famous for exotic sculpture just like Khajuraho caves. These are the twin hills and are known as a home of monks of Jain religion. Khnadagiri (means Broken Hills) and Udayagiri (means Hill of Sunrise). You can feel the glorious past of India here. These caves were designed by Kharavela, the Jain king in 2nd century.

Dhauli Giri, Lingaraj Temple are some other tourist place in India.
