The Appliance for Home Cooks AND Professional Cooks

Induction cooking is electric cooking.

Magnetic energy flowing between cook top and ferrous metal pot generates heat which transfers to the food in the pot and cooks it.

Temperature control: Knobs or touch pads give very sensitive variable heat settings: full boil to simmer, turning down to keep food warm, all these are quick transitions.

Noise: There are small fans in some units to dissipate the heat generated by the electric induction coils under the ceramic surface of the Induction Cook Top. User feedback indicates that cooks do not mind these fans.

Safety: These appliances heat only the pot; adjacent areas do not heat up enough to burn a person or cause a kitchen fire. (Kitchen fires are the cause of many accidents, even fatalities.)

Care of the Induction Cook Top - a simple wipe with a damp soft cloth, with non-abrasive cleaner if necessary, is enough to keep it shiny and ready to place a flower vase on.

Why switch to Induction Cookers? They are the safest, cleanest, most energy-efficient appliance for our kitchens.

Adjustments needed in your kitchen? : heavy bottom steel, cast iron or enameled cast iron cookware is necessary on these cook tops. You can use a iron slip-plate between your non-ferrous cookware and the Induction Cooker. Your cookware must have smooth level bottom surfaces to connect well with the cook top.

What Can you Cook on Induction Cookers ?

Anything You Want !

An Induction Cooker will cook every dish that you are now preparing on the cook top you have in your kitchen. The difference lies in the energy efficiency of the appliance.

Soups, stews, frying, rice cooking, poaching eggs or fish, candy and jam making, in fact all your favorite recipes can be prepared on your Induction Cooker's smooth ceramic-glass surface.

The following illustration very briefly explains the Induction Cooking method.
  • There is an induction coil under the burner surface
  • Turn the burner on, set the ferrous bottom cook pot on it,
  • between the two electrically activated, now magnetized surfaces heat is created
  • the pot, bottom and sides, and contents heat up and food is cooked;
  • Switch the burner off and all heating immediately stops.
  • And that is flame-less, safe cooking

All the cooking is done by heat, electric heat.
But there are differences which you will quickly notice:

  • The induction method is highly energy efficient - at 90% it outperforms the 40-65 % efficiency rates of cook tops which use heat from all other sources. (wood, gas, halogen, or radiant electric elements.)

  • Very accurate temperature control by touch pads or knobs ensure excellent cooking results.

  • This rather large model gives a look at some variations of induction cooking equipment available.
