Inexpensive digital cameras are useful tools
Ok, I have a page with high quality digital SLR cameras but there is also a place for the lowly, cheap camera that simply takes accurate pictures.
Around the office, around the house, or even on a trip, one should alwasy carry an inexpensive digital camera to take simple, practical pictures.
Examples of uses for inexpensive digital cameras
1. take a picture of a complex computer network design done on a whiteboard at work - better get a copy before some helpful hand wipes it clean
2. on a construction job site - pretty much unlimited use to document what's going on, any problem areas, etc
3. house appraisers - take multiple pictures of the house
4. take pictures of signs - real estate, advertising, etc - why bother writing down the number or address, when you can snap a photo
5. speaking of real estate - if you are buying - take multiple pictures of each property so you can compare at your leisure
6. if in a car accident - a few pictures might greatly support your case
7. take a picture of a book page or a manual - my wife just sent a picture of a recipe page to our aunt - sure beats typing in all that stuff.
8. anything visually interesting - like the gardens of Alhambra, Spain - I liked the way they handled watering - simply had little dams build by putting an ordinary brick in a specially designed spot - so water in a little channel was diverted out of it, into the garden - I liked the idea, so I snapped a photo to remind me.

Any One of These Will Do
Kodak EASYSHARE C613 - Digital camera - compact - 6.2 Mpix - optical zoom: 3 x - supported memory: MMC, SD, SDHC
OK, guys, do you have the guts to carry a pink camera to a job site? :-)
Why el cheapo camera will do the trick
Should be obvious by now that none of the uses mentioned above require artistic photos, or super lenses, or anything special. Here is another cool ( I think ) picture of Alhambra, Spain - a little brook running inside of a hollowed out concrete ( stone?) railing - garden and the steps were so, so, but the water in the railing was way cool. Both Alhambra pictures were taken with a 3 mega pixel camera - need I say more? Neither will win awards, but they capture what I wanted. All of the cameras below have sufficient pixels to do the job. You will need bigger memory card
