Infertility Yoga for Men and Women
Infertility yoga is a relaxing technique to enhance your fertility, soothe your mind and body, as well as strengthen your reproductive system. Yoga is a tradition with a history that stretches back thousands of years, specifically practiced for general health and well-being. Also, it is capable of healing certain ailments, sexual problems or infertility.
Yoga calms the mind and works certain muscles of the body to bring balance to both. It has been useful in the past for women with blocked fallopian tubes, as well as hormone or other reproductive system imbalances. There is evidence that it can also be useful to women as a means if relaxing and preparing for the physical demands of pregnancy.
The poses used in infertility yoga may seem feminine or designed for the female body, but they also work well for men, it is nice to have a prtner to do yoga with. The poses focus mainly on the hips and pelvis where we support the physical body and hold the physical expression of emotion, both physical and mental tension. They will also help blood flow and balance the hormones.

Infertility yoga also emphasizes increasing the amount of oxygen going to the brain, in order to stimulate the hypothalamus and pituitary gland. These glands release hormones into your body through the blood stream. These hormones are essential for the proper function of your body's reproductive system. Certain yoga poses can help to increase blood flow to these glands and thereby improve the way they function. One of the biggest worries is that the poses may be too difficult. Fortunately, flexibility isn't very important in infertility yoga. Most of the poses are quite easy on the body, and you should never push your body beyond its limits. With time, you will notice that these exercises can actually improve your flexibility and range of motion.
A concern for any hew hobby or exercise is how much it costs. I highly suggest starting out with at least a yoga DVD so you can see the poses and try it at home. It might also be nice to have a mat or rug to exercise on, as well as loose comfortable clothing and a calm environment. There is a Fertility Yoga DVD available to guide you through the movements, and it has soothing beautiful music as well. If you don't have the DVD, silence works well too.

Breathing is perhaps the most crucial element of yoga, because it relaxes you, and increases the amount of oxygen going to the body and brain. During your poses, focus on breathing more deeply and slowly, and maintain this breathing cadence through out the session, to the best of your abilities. At the same time that you are focusing on your breathing, you should also be paying attention to your body and releasing any tension. The best way to do this is to tighten and release the muscles in your core, particularly in your reproductive/anus region. Now that you know a little more about what infertility yoga can do for you, you should feel motivated to try it out. There are many more useful positions I can tell you about. I can also tell you where to get an infertility yoga DVD that demonstrates the correct form and alignment of each position.
