As a professional Landscape Architect, I know that many traditional landscapedesign concepts can be applied to ChristmasDecorationDesign. Listed below are several tips to help you gain the most from your YuletideDisplays.

Create a sense of Unity: You can create a sense of unity in your setting by using the same coloredlight and type of strings, similar types of funcharacters using the same manufacturer, or the samecolor (all white, red and green only, etc.).

Develop similar themes: You might put glowingangels around the nativityfamily, or just use all penguins&snowmen this year, or set all your cartooncharacters around a group of prettyornaments or theSantaSleigh.

Use what that you already have: Use your trees and shrubs to your advantage. Illuminate them in the similar colorlighting and group your figures around them.

Designate a focal point: For most people, they have one special HolidayDisplay that they want to feature. The most interesting focalpoints are not placed front and center. It's more pleasing to the eye to have your focalpoint offset - just slightly to the left or right.

Vary Heights: This is another technique employed by every landscapeprofessional. It's very pleasing to the eye to see a line of shrubs that vary in size to each other, then an ornamentaltree, then another varying row of shrubery. Using smallerdecorations varied with large will add ExtraAppeal.

Add a Sense of Discovery: Many people are driving by your lawndecorations just for fun. Walk along the street in front of your property and then place a specialdisplay just beyond the beginning of the driver's viewpoint. This will add an ExtraTouch of excitement as they drive past your house.
