This lens is for anyone trying to figure out how to make a living online--whether it's by Internet marketing, blogging, or other means. Many of the best resources are free, but there are those that are well worth their price. This lens will spotlight the best free and paid services I've used and found helpful. As I find more, I'll share.
Affiliate Marketing Sweetie
This system shows you, in very specific ways, how to:
- increase your website traffic
- build better relationships with your prospects
- get more referrals to increase your sales
- networking for longterm success
- transform your competitors to partners
RSS, Etiquette, & PLR Content
Using RSS for content is a great thing, but just because a site has a feed does not mean the creator wants you to use it for your purposes. Think about it, you work hard on a web site or blog, maybe even pay someone to write original content, then find someone has built a complete site around your content. How would you feel? Yeah, pissed. There's no need to lift someone else's content. There's excellent PLR content available at reasonable prices:

Marketing Tools
These are tools I use or have used that were useful. Mostly Web 2.0 type stuff.
- Google Suggest
- Type in keywords and get predictions for popularity.
- GoArticles
- Not as strict as Ezinearticles. You can use redirects in your links and generally have more links in your articles.
- Ezine Articles
- Article marketing is a legit and effective tool. I also love that they have RSS feeds for each subject area so you can subscribe or use for content in your own blog. I know everyone is an expert these days, but some of the authors actually know what they're talking about.
- FindArticles
- This is from Looksmart. Search for full text articles on any subject then grab the RSS feed. Instant content.
- Embed the Video
- Not everything is on Youtube. This is so simple it's scary. In 3 steps you build the code to embed a video on a web page.
- Google Book Search
- Another great tool for free. Do an advanced search for a topic and make the date range soemthing like 1800-1915. If the full text of the book pops up, it's probably public domain.
- Page Strength SEO Tool
- The tool is designed to satisfy the curiosity of webmasters, surfers and web marketing professionals seeking a better metric to quickly assess a site/page's relative importance and visibility.
- Pingomatic
- By pinging, you let the services know that your site has been updated and hence, they crawl and index your site, publishing your blog contents, thus increasing your blog's popularity.
- Pollhost
- Sign up for free account and create code for a poll on your site.
- PR Web
- Write a press release for your endeavor.
- Public Domain - Definitive Info
- Lolly Gasaway is a law professor and Dean at UNC Chapel Hill. I was lucky enough to take a seminar with her. As far as I'm concerned, she's THE expert on this subject. Good info about copyright too.
- RSS to Javascript
- This is my favorite RSS converter, although it can be slow at times. Just find a feed, plug it in, massage, and you have content.
- Yahoo! Site Explorer
- Site Explorer allows you to explore all the web pages indexed by Yahoo! Search. View the most popular pages from any site, dive into a comprehensive site map, and find pages that link to that site or any page.
