The Reason I Needed To Know If There's An Ingrown Toenail Cure

First of all, as embarrassing as this may be, let me tell you that I actually suffer from ingrown toenail, which is why I started this research in the first place. I wanted to see if there was an ingrown toenail cure and how the heck I could have got it.

The thing about my ingrown toenails is I didn't know I had them, my girlfriend brought it to my attention when she was cutting my toenails. She always cut them, it's just that one-day she said that I should take a look at them and that's when I noticed they were growing into my skin.

You see I don't have the pain that is often associated with ingrown toenails so I just didn't pay any attention to my toes. However, once I did find out I had ingrown toenails I started doing some research to not only see about ingrown toenail treatment, but also the cause of ingrown toenail.

This lens will document my findings.

What Actually Causes Ingrown Toenails?

We have To See The Ingrown Toenail Causes Before We Can Find The Ingrown Toenail Cure

Ingrown Toenail TreatmentSo what does cause ingrown toenail. I couldn't imagine what could have caused my ingrown toenails. In my research I found that there are two main causes, tight fitting footwear like shoes and even socks and improperly cut nails.

Tight fitting shoes or socks can force the toenail to grow inward causing it to dig into the skin. Toenails that are not trimmed properly can cause the nail to cut into the skin. If toenails are cut too short or cut with rounded edges the nail could curl downward and grow into the skin.

Although tight fitting footwear and improperly cut nails are the main causes of ingrown toenails there are some others like Stubbing your toe or other injuries can cause the flesh to press against the nail causing swelling around the toe.

Other injuries can cause the nail to grow abnormally and make it bulged or crooked. Dampness of enclosed shoes will cause softening of the nail-plate making it grow oddly.

Now that we know the causes, lets talk about an ingrown toenail cure or treatment.

You don't have to suffer with a painful irritating ingrown toenail. Checkout this e-book and discover one man's ingrown toenail cure.

How Al Cintra-Leite Got Ingrown Toenail Relief

Ingrown Toenail Cure BookI would say the best ingrown toenail cure is prevention. It should be easy to get shoes that fit properly and take more care with trimming your toenails as well as proper nail care all together.

Okay, that's all fine and well, but what if you already have an ingrown toenail problem, what can be done about it?

Depending on how sever the problem is your ingrown toenail treatment can be anything from soaking the infected foot in a mixture of warm water and Epsom salts to surgery. Just about any ingrown toenail home treatment I found takes weeks and any doctor treatment can be expensive.

There is a Kindle book on Amazon called "How I cured my Ingrown Toenails" that is about the method the author, Al Cintra-Leite, used to cure his ingrown toenails and also the things he learned about the condition and the cures that are commonly attempted.

Like I said earlier, I don't have any pain with my ingrown toenails so doing the slower treatments is okay with me. But if your ingrown toenail is the painful one you might want to check out How I cured my Ingrown Toenails to see if Al's cure will work for you.

As I mentioned this is a Kindle book so you will need a Kindle to read it. If you don't have a Kindle you can get one Right Here for as little as $79.

My husbands been dealing with the same pain for a while now and it's finally starting to get better. We finally bought him a new pair of running shoes which was the first step in the right direction - hopefully we're in the clear for a while. Thanks for sharing this helpful lens!

    >> Soak the foot in warm water 4 times a day. You do not need to add soap or antibacterial agents to the water. Pharmacies usually carry special soak packs, like Pedi-Boro soak packs or Epsom salt.

    >> Wash the foot including the affected area twice a day with soap and water. Keep the foot clean and dry during the rest of the day.

    >> Do not wear high heels or tight-fitting shoes. Consider wearing sandals, if appropriate, until the condition clears up.

    >> Try to lift up the corner of the nail that is digging into the skin. Take a small piece of cotton or gauze and roll it between your fingers to form a small roll or wick. Then place the roll between the nail and the skin to keep it elevated. This is painful but is the most important part of home treatment. After every soaking, try to push the roll a little farther in.

    >> You may take a pain reliever such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen.

    >> If you see no improvement within 3 days, call your doctor.
