It's their choice, plus it's better for fur to be farmed than hunted in the wild.

Marcia says:

Yes. It is a natural resource that can be warm and beautiful.

Kevin says:

Although maybe a bit macabre, lets not forget we eat animals aswell. That is not really needed either.
And prettymuch everbody wears leather things, either a wallet or a boot or whatever. Thats prettymuch the same thing but then without the hair.

Noadi says:

It's a double-edged sword here. On one hand animals are killed for their fur either farm raised or trapped/hunted, on the other hand fake fur is essentially plastic and is produced from petroleum and does not bio-degrade. Personally the only fur item I own is real and made from domestic rabbit fur, it's a trade-off I'm willing to make it's biodegradeable and domestic rabbits are not wild animals being raised in captivity or killed in the wild.

No way, real fur should be replaced by fake fur!

aubrei says:

im anti-fur all the way, and i think that the champaign is great. but i do believe its a persons choice. i hope they make the right one. :)

jewelkid87 says:

I don't wear fur or leather and im perfectly happy with that. I say let the animals keep their skin :) Is fashion really THAT important?

seanmathis says:

I think people can do what ever they want. Personally I would never wear fur, or hurt an animal.

Kaitlyn Mary says:

No! Fur is for the animals and should stay on them. I am 5 Months vegan and its really not so bad as everyone makes it out to be. I eat the same foods just coverged into vegan Like burgers and hotdogs made by boca I dont notice much of taste difference and I did notice im not queezy after eating anymore like I used to be from meat.

Jami says:

Let's go skin some humans and wear THAT. To me, it's the same thing as wearing animal fur. Every time you put on that lovely fur coat you adore, realize you are wearing a dead animal on your body. I think it's disgusting. Fur should be fake, period.

Say "No" To Fur and Fur Farming

What "Ink, Not Mink" is really campaigning about isn't the encouragement of tattoos, it's against using fur for fashion and the practice of fur farming.

Thousands of animals, mostly mink, chinchilla and foxes, are raised and killed solely to obtain their fur. The animals are frequently raised in cramped and diseased conditions with up to 25% of the "crop" dying from respiratory or other illness in the process.

The animals are then subject to electrocution, drowning or are often clubbed to death. Many animals are just horribly wounded or stunned instead of outright killed and it's not uncommon for them to then actually be still alive when they are skinned for their fur.

It's now possible to create synthetic "fake" furs that imitate real animal skins and as such, farming and killing animals just to harvest their skins isn't necessary anymore.
