Inkheart A Family Friendly Movie
Looking for great gifts for tween children in your life? For a book and movie loving teen? You may want to consider Inkheart, the best-selling book by Cordelia Funke and a copy of the movie on your choice of either DVD or blu-ray.
Inkheart was a book much loved by my sixteen year old son. He read it a few years ago and was thrilled when he heard it was being made into a movie. Or I should say, cautiously thrilled, because we all know that movies rarely live up to books. We found time recently to watch it and, while the movie did not live up to the book, we still think that the movie was good and that a combination of this book and movie would make a top-rated gift choice for that tween or teen in your life. And maybe even for an Aunt who loves children's books, too.
Scholastic, the publisher of Inkheart, recommends the book for nine-year olds and up if read aloud and for ten-year olds and up if read alone.
The movie, is rated PG or parental guidance for fantasy adventure action, some scary moments and brief language. My favorite reviewer, The Movie Mom, feels that this movie is close to being a PG-13 movie because of the violence and scariness factors so do keep that in mind if you are shopping for someone younger than that.
On this page, you'll find a bit more information about both the book and the movie. As well as a few other recommendations for individuals in this age bracket. I hope it makes your job of choosing the perfect gift for a young book fan a little easier.

What if...
every time you read aloud
the story came to life?
Official Inkheart Movie Trailer & Story
Imagine what would happen if the words you read from a book came to life. That is just the talent that Meggie's father Mo has in Inkheart. He manages to let an evil ruler free from a book and the result is an adventure that normally only takes place in books.
This must certainly be the quintessential book lover's book and movie for the father not only has the power to make things in books come to life but he is also a book doctor, which means that this movie is filled with the most amazing collection of books. I particularly enjoyed the setting of this movie, the beautiful homes with old libraries of books, the book stores, the books, the quaint village, and more. It was beautifully done.

The best blog for movie fans. I am only a bit prejudiced, LOL.
My movies blog is the place where I share my love of great and, sometimes, not-so-great movies and films. I would love it if you joined in the discussions by offering your opinion about the best movies, the movie-of-the-day, the last movie you saw or, if you are the silent type, simply following along!
