Innovation and entrepreneurship are my passions. I am particularly intrigued by social entrepreneurship. I don't think that making the world a better place and making a profit are mutually exclusive.
I started a not-for-profit organization for student inventors, innovators, and entrepreneurs, Young Inventors International. The organization currently has more than 1,800 members around the world, with 500 patented and patent pending technologies. And many of our members are social entrepreneurs.
I am fascinated by the processes that help innovators bring new ideas to market.

My Favorite Blogs
- EclectEcon
- Prof. John Palmer's blog is a fantastic read. Prof. Palmer is a former professor of mine and he always makes me think (and laugh about a science as dismal as economics). There is hope yet (particularly if the Ban the Penny Campaign succeeds).
- How to Change the World
- The original Apple Evangelist, Guy Kawasaki offers entrepreneurs practical tips for building ventures worthy of evangelism.
- Truck and Barter
- Engaging blog on a variety of topics related to economics (and, inextricably, politics).
- DealBreaker
- An entertaining and at times informative "Wall Street Tabloid."
Cool Technologies
- Nuvvo
- Create your own elearning modules on demand. Blogs made everyone an expert. Nuvvo makes everyone a teacher.
- Vyew
- Someone described this technology to me as "free Webex." Tools that connect are cool. Free tools that connect are even cooler.
- meebo
- Aggregates a number of IM applications on a single (remote) site.
- YouOS
- Cool concept for an OS accessible from a remote server - access the YouOS desktop (and their custom apps) from anywhere! (My concerns: data security; "boxy" interface).
- Otavo
- If you're looking for recommendations for anything from best restaurants to latest web 2.0 technologies, check out this collaborative community.

- Great stuff - young innovators often have the best ideas and get the worst advice. Keep adding to it so that your readers visit more often. The most important business transformation is from nothing to spectacular!

- Interesting some good things here like nuvvo, it looks interesting for teaching distributed courses, also look at moodle if you are interested in this, a complete VLE in a box. (need own server to host it). Good Lens *****
