Insight #1 when learning how to get over a broken heart is recognizing the history behind your hurt. Eckhart Tolle calls this history of hurt the pain body. You see, an awareness of the history behind your hurt carries with it a lesson that empowers you to create a relationship that now seems impossible.

Once you've done this its you need to understand insight #2 to learn how to get over a broken heart: understanding why pain lingers. This means taking time to acknowledge how you're allowing your broken heart to linger. Consider the following quick insights as you try to understand how you feel stuck unable to get over your broken heart:


  • You see, you ultimately need to accept responsibility for your emotional state.


  • Emotions don't happen to you by others, they occur within you and through you.

YOU HAVE TWO CHOICES YOU HAVE AVAILABLE - YOU CAN LET THE HURT LINGER OR YOU CAN LEARN TO GET OVER A BROKEN HEART:


  • CHOICE ONE - LET YOUR BROKEN HEART CONTINUE TO LINGER: You see, despite how justified you may feel to blame others for your hurt, this focus doesn't help.  This is how you hold outside your view the very solutions you seek. Remember, emotions don't happen to you, they exist within you.  Understanding how you're handling your emotions and accepting responsibility helps you learn how to get over a broken heart.


  • CHOICE TWO - LEARN HOW TO GET OVER A BROKEN HEART Choosing to work at seeing the other side of the coin and ask yourself some difficult questions.  Essentially this amounts to understanding your role in things.  As you come to recognize this, you're well on your way.  Since I realize this is a hard concept to grasp, we'll touch on it a bit later.  For now I just want you to recognize the importance accepting responsibility.


Understanding Yourself As The Cause For Your Pain's Lingering Presence Is Essential When Learning How To Get Over A Broken Heart

HOW TO GET OVER A BROKEN HEART - Failing To Forgive & Pains Lingering Presence 

Failing to forgive others essentially means your choosing to hold onto your hurt instead of heal it. An unwillingness to forgive is one reason why you can't figure out how to get over a broken heart.


  • Contrary to what you may think, forgiveness isn't about "letting them off the hook".


  • As a matter of fact, forgiveness is the best gift you can give yourself.


  • Forgiving is about you choosing to learn how to get over a broken heart.


  • Remember, the opposite of forgiveness is resentment. In your desire to blame and justify your victim story you inadvertently cause it to linger.

Mind you, I'm not telling you you're feelings aren't justified.  All I'm asking you to do is recognize that your current perspective of things isn't helping.  Holding on to a grudge and failing to forgive, equates to allowing pain to linger.

The pain body exists within you as either suppressed hurt or resurfaced pain that is actively expressed in the midst of your personal pain triggers. This viscious cycle of suppression and expression will continue indefinitely in your life.

The lingering presence of your broken heart is simply the result of a choice you've made over time about how to handle your pain.

Ultimately, there's no easy quick fix help you discover how to get over a broken heart. It requires a commitment to choose healing. This means learning how to get over a broken heart. Let me reassure you, you can get through this. Just beyond the pan that overcomes you are the lessons you must learn to discover a relationship 10x better.
