Gifts for People Who Can't Sleep
For someone suffering from insomnia, giving them the gift of sleep is the most wonderful present you could possibly choose. You'll find here some unique products for improving sleep or helping someone get to sleep.
Insomnia, either occasional or chronic, affects one's quality of life. I know I'm a complete grouch if I don't get enough sleep. It makes it hard to concentrate and makes one feel lethargic and lackluster.

- I usually pray first and see if that's why I can't sleep. If it's not that, I write some and walk around puttering for about 30 minutes or so. Take some calcium and magnesium then go back to bed. Not eating late helps.

- Love these ideas. I love my sound machine, which lulls me to sleep. And my Black Cohosh (for my hot flash nights).

- I am awake every night for at least two hours, just before going to work (my 9 to 5 job)...It's really tiring and annoying -but I've noticed that just lying in bed helps, and I fall asleep really often after some waking hours... just in time to leave home:) (Not much fun indeed, still I'm glad I can do it for some more minutes...) Great idea for a gift guide!

- Noise wakes me up. We hear trains from our neighborhood and this woke me up multiple times per night for years. Moving the bed to an interior wall, keeping storm windows closed and covering the windows with heavy drapes help. Hang tapestries on the walls to absorb sound. Heavy furniture on outside walls helps block sound as well. I am sleeping better these days.
