Insomnia and sleep disorder
There are also issues to be considered concerning the quality of sleep experienced; often we feel that we have slept for long enough but still feel as though we haven't had the benefit of a good night's sleep.
Chronic insomnia, where the symptons continue for a long period of time can lead to depressive states and other emotional issues.
However, it should appreciated that about one third of the population will suffer bouts of insomnia from time to time - you are not alone in experiencing this frustrating and tiring condition.
Symptoms can include inability to actually get to sleep
Waking up several times dururing the night.
Waking up earlier than planned (and not being able to get back to sleep).
Not feeling refreshed by sleep.
Inability to function properly during the day, especially having difficulty concentrating.
Irritability due to lack of sleep.
This is an extensive subject and one that cannot be covered adequately in this lens. We recommend that for full information see the NHS Direct website, see Useful Links below, for full explanation of all aspects of these frustrating conditions.

- my recipe for insomnia is not to force yourself to sleep. be productive and work on your squidoo lenses. i am sure that when you're really tired, you will fall asleep in deep slumber.
