An easy way to make your own inspiration boards
Making an inspiration board can be fun and very addicting. Sometimes though, if you're not computer savvy or if you don't have the money to buy expensive software programs, it can be frustrating!
I've designed a lens to help you make a very simple inspiration board using Google documents. With this lens, the only thing you will need is a Google gmail account which is completely free and includes your own email. If you already have a gmail account, no worries. If not, you will need to go to www.gmail.com and set one up before proceeding with this lens.

This is a cute wedding inspiration board that I made in under a half an hour using gmail documents.
Step One
In the upper left hand corner of your gmail page, click on 'documents'. This will take you to the main documents page.In the left hand column, click 'create new' and select 'drawing'.
Step 2
Now you will need to open a new tab for your screen so that you can toggle back and forth between your google document and the photos that you want to use from the web. If you've never done this before, you will need to go to the upper left hand corner of your screen and click 'File', then 'New Tab'.Once your new tab is open, you can go to the websites where your inspiration images are located. For the sake of simplicity, we'll go to Google and search 'lace wedding dress images'. This will pull up tons of photos of wedding dresses (although, you may already have a site with a wedding dress. This is fine and you can use these same guidelines to copy the photo to your google document inspiration board.)
Step 3
Find your favorite image and left click over the image. On the menu, click 'copy image location'.Now, go back to your Google documents drawing page. Click on 'Insert', and then 'Image'.
This will take you to a new screen where you can choose where you want to get your images from. If you already have images saved to your computer, you can upload them from there. If you are using internet photos like I am showing you in this tutorial, you will need to click the 'URL' button. Click on the empty box, and hit the 'CTRL' and 'V' buttons on your keyboard at the same time. This will copy the location of the image that you have selected. Now click 'Select'.
Your new image should appear on the Google drawing board. You can now drag the image around or make it bigger/smaller by pulling on the round tabs around the image.
Continue this same step until you have all of the photos you want.
Step 4
To save your new inspiration board, click on 'File' and then 'Rename'. Here you will give your inspiration board a name. Next, click 'File' again and then click 'Download as' then 'JPEG'.You will then be asked what you want to do with the image. Click 'save'.
This will save your image to your 'Downloads' file on your computer. That is where you will need to go to find it, and you can then move it to a picture file. From there you can email it, print it off, etc.
Congratulations, you've made your first inspiration board!!!!
