Autumn is SO inspiring.

Welcome to my Autumn Inspiration lens. Autumn (Fall) is my favorite season of all. I think the reason I love it so much is because it is not too hot, or too cold. Also, I love watching the beautiful colors of the leaves as they start to change.

Halloween (my favorite Fall holiday) is a holiday mostly known for trick or treaters and decorations in the United States. But some still celebrate the changing of the seasons, plus the remembrance of people gone from this world into the next. Halloween is also celebrated as Samhain, the end of the harvest-time, and one festival closer to Yule, which Christians celebrate now as Christmas.

All Soul's Day, and the lifting of the curtain between the dead and the living, can be a time of celebration, remembrance, thoughtfulness, and a chance for learning and growing - - a step towards more creativity, fullness, and understanding in our lives.

Thanksgiving, also a Fall holiday, is a holiday celebrating our lives of plenty and the rescue of the Pilgrims in the U.S. by the Native Americans of the area.

Many Americans would not be alive today if it were not for the help of these kind, generous native people, because the Pilgrims were starving and dying at the time and the Native Americans of the area took pity on them and gave them food.

The Seasons - Autumn
Autumn is a time for reflection.

Autumn is...

Reflecting on the year, and what went before...

Autumn is the perfect time to take stock of the year, too, and what you want to accomplish in it.

For instance, what important goals do you have for this year, or next?

Like the trees, our lives are finite. Just seeing the leaves falling from the trees reminds me that taking the time to thoughtfully examine what I really want in life can be a good step towards achieiving it.

Halloween - why it is inspirational

Halloween as a holiday is full of history and inspiration.

I love to research holidays and find out their true meaning. Halloween is celebrated still here in the U.S., and has Celtic roots. Long ago, people celebrated this holiday as an End of Harvest Festival. Today around the world many people are re-discovering the unique roots of their holidays to make them both more authentic and also more inspiring.

Many people now celebrate Halloween as Samhain, (pronounced Sow-In), and others honor their families during The Day of the Dead, when the otherworld or world of the dead comes close to the world of the living.

You can find out more about Samhain and its history at the ADF site here: Samhain Lore by Ian Corrigan.

These Squidoo lenses help explain some Autumn and Winter holidays and their history.

Autumn is a time for remembering.

Also, Autumn is...

There are many ways to remember your loved ones.

You can get out old family photos, and make a display of them.

You can write about your loved ones, and remember what made them special.

Honoring your passed loved friends and family helps them live on in your memory. Sharing your memories with others helps their story live on.

I hadn't realised the word 'Autumn' was used west of 'The Pond'! Nice lens, thanks.

Autumn is my favorite time of year because of the colors. With snow on the ground here in Fargo, ND...I needed some Autumn inspiration! This is very nice!

Autumn is beautiful here in California. We don't get the brilliant fall foliage colors on a large scale, but the temperatures are mild. I get a lot done this time of year.

Awesome lens! The trees are so beautiful in autumn. I can never decide if fall or spring is my favorite season. I guess it is just which ever one we are living in at the moment :)

I love autumn! The gorgeous crunch and colour of the leaves alone make it my favourite season... but I also celebrate Samhain, so it's a time of reflection and a new year for me too! Beautiful lens.

I believe Autumn is my favorite time of year. For a long time it was a close tie between Autumn and Spring. But Autumn has some special appeal for me because hunting season is in full swing. It's also a great time of the year to accomplish those outdoor projects that were delayed because of summer heat. Nice lens.

Fall is my fave time of year too...especially because of the scents and crisp air. Beautiful page of reminders to reflect and be in the moment during this wonderful time of year!

This was a wonderful lens for me to read at this time...Autumn was a favorite time of year for me, but has been harder since the passing of my father in the fall...I notice a change in how I view it, and want the joy to return...it is, slowly and gently. Thank you for this page. Beautiful.

I love the seasons, and like living in an area where the seasons change, like Kentucky. I grew up in Wisconsin, where the seasons changed too, and the winter was longer. But Kentucky has a winter, so it is still all good.

It's so nice that you came by this lens today. I appreciate it so much.
