How to Raise Your Writing Inspiration and Creativity
10 Ways to Keep Yourself Creative and Inspired
- Keep a notebook with you at all times. Whenever you see something unusual, make a note. If you overhear and interesting bit of conversation, make a note. If you see something for the first time, make a note.
- Hand write your drafts instead of typing them. The change of pace stops the analytical editor interfering.
- If you usually write in a quite place, go somewhere noisy, a cafe for example. It worked for J.K. Rowling.
- Watch an inspirational movie. Make notes or write notes afterwards. If trying to write is too stressful, a break can work wonders.
- Read a book or some poetry that stirs you.
- Go to the Gym, for a run, or a cycle ride. Get your heart racing. Put your vibrational energy into high gear.
- Try writing exercises, there's a new one published each week on Chapter 1 Page 1
- Join an on-line writer's circle such as My Writers Circle where there are lots of writing challenges to try. You may also find reviewing other writer's work sparks new ideas.
- Look at bright and bold colors for a while. They can help change your frame of mind.
- Have you got a guilty secret? Write yourself a letter asking for your forgiveness. The secret will lose it's grip and set you free.
