Touched by the Hand of God Collection

Philemon 1:6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

Dearest Reader - Words of inspiration expressed in poetic form, and words of encouragement related through inspirational poems, are a beautiful footprint left by God on the hearts of those who write and those who read it. Inspirational poetry and spiritual lyrics stir the soul and awaken us to a new and different way of viewing the world around us. The love of God is easily expressed in the form of poetry and more readily received by the reader.

My collection of poetry is titled the "Touched by the Hand of God Collection" and contains 3 volumes of inspirational poetry. Among the pages of these e-books lie 90 pages of inspirational poetry inspired by faith and powered by God. Individually, each inspirational poem stands alone in its message of hope and encouragement, but as a collection, there is a richness of God's goodness and grace, a heart-warming touch of God's love, and an inspired revelation of God's absolute faithfulness to His children.

My Inspiration to Write Poetry

Powered by God

Inspired from GodThe things that inspire me to write poetry are beautiful landscapes and things found in nature. I see such beauty and realize that God created it all, and for me that is inspirationally moving, a stirring inside for which poetry is the only form of expression to share those feelings with others. I am also inspired to write poetry when I become aware of heartfelt emotions, sorrow, sadness, heartache, or yes even overwhelming joy. These emotions run deep and my soul is awakened both to the struggles of life and the everyday issues facing each of us. Then there is a joy that comes only from God and the peace He has given me that is also easy to express through poetry. But my poetry in summation carries one message and that message is that our God is able in any circumstance and His love for us is unconditional.

Touched by the Hand of God

Volume 1

Touched By The Hand Of God Vol 1Volume 1 includes selections such as Garden Of Praise, i.e., the breeze through the willows, its soft whispers sigh. I once had a garden that was full of honeysuckles and roses. In memory I recalled the smell of the roses, the scent of the honeysuckles in soft breezes and I was inspired to write this poem about choosing that particular place to go and worship God in the twilight, softly singing hymns, praising God and thanking Him for all He had done in my life and His unfailing care and provision. A Change Of Color, i.e., for He can paint the meadows, wash them clean with heavenly rain. This poem opens with a description of walking in a meadow on velvety green grasses, beautiful wildflowers strewn about, and in that serene and peaceful setting realizing in my heart that just as God painted such beauty in nature, so He can paint our lives anew and afresh, and shine the beautiful Light of His Love into our darkness; or Imagine, i.e., imagine hope when hope is lost, a stirring of the soul. Imagine is one of my longest poems and one of the most profound in theory because for a moment I let myself imagine life without the everyday struggles and pain, for a short time I just meditated on all the issues in the world today and how God is the answer in every situation. The scripture I used was 1 Peter 5:7 which says to cast all your care upon the Lord for He cares for us.

Volume 2

Touched By The Hand Of God Vol 2For Volume 2, I have included poetic words of inspiration titled I Wonder, i.e., Is there a cup somewhere, not seen, that catches every tear? As is common to man I have questions at times, ponderings about life and all its many forms, so by poetic expression I acknowledged the questions of my soul, but ultimately acknowledged that God's word explicitly states that He is aware of man's condition, and through faith in His Son, Jesus, we are covered from here to eternity in Love, and every excuse or question is answered in Christ. 'Neath His Wings Of Grace, i.e. He hides me 'neath His wings of grace, and tender mercies sweet. This poem is an expression of the love walk I have with God. I affirm that my thoughts are always on Him and His Spirit has control. I speak of what it means to be in His care, waiting on Him and depending on Him. There is a freedom to be yourself in Christ, just as you were uniquely created, and our God is aware of all that is in our makeup, frailties, weaknesses, brokenness, and He holds them all as dear to Him in His care of us. Divine Nurturer, i.e., And this my place, sweetly secure, a life once tainted now is pure. The Divine Nurturer is actually a revelation of the feelings of rejection and being in a lost condition as a child and the spiritual journey, with overwhelming emotions at times, until I came to actually know God and His love for me. The Exchange, i.e. But as we kneel and seek His face emotions interchange. At a moment in my life when there was a lot of emotional pain, a space in time when I was feeling weak and defeated, I was inspired to write this poem. It is actually a poetic expression of realizing my condition and turning to God. Scripture says if we turn to God, He will turn to us, and I met Him in that moment, truly a Love touch.

Volume 3

Touched By The Hand Of God Vol 3Volume 3, the final volume in this collection, includes selections such as The Visitation, i.e., and in the sunlight's dancing beams that summon me to rise. This poem is deeply moving and emotionally charged. It came to me one night as I was having trouble sleeping. It was a midnight-hour-encounter with God, and in the agony of my tribulation I was overcome by a sense of His presence and Love. In the silent stillness I felt as if I could just reach out and take hold His hand, and in that moment of comfort a peace came over me that everything was going to be okay. Transfiguration, i.e., His glory 'midst those silver clouds, and glory yet untold. Written as a testimony that God who created the heavens and earth also created man to be a steward of the earth. It is written from the perspective of gazing up at the heavens and being overawed by its beauty, beholding the world in all its glory, and though the earth is scarred and worn, God has not changed, His love for us is still sure, and a home in heaven awaits; and Covenant Unbroken, i.e., distorted views as raindrops trickle down the window pane. As I sat beside my window on a rainy day I happened to get a glimpse of a beautiful rainbow. I was reminded of the covenant God made that He would never destroy the earth again by a flood and placed His rainbow in the sky as a sign of that covenant. And for me, each time I see a rainbow I am reminded of God's promise to care for His people and the blessings of being a child of the King through faith in His Son, Jesus.

As God Said

He's knocking. Can you hear Him?"Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if any man hear my voice". Throughout the pages of these e-books, God's voice can be heard if you only allow your hearts to hear Him. May these words of inspiration touch your heart and warm your soul. It is my prayer that these poems will inspire, uplift, encourage and minister God's tender care to every reader, just as I was ministered to as I wrote them. Yes, may this poetic form of the revelation of God and His great love for us through His Son Jesus, His promise of help in time of need, rest in times of exhaustion, wisdom for every situation, encourage you on your spiritual journey.
