What is an Instant Camera?
These cameras have proven to be very popular for celebrations such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries or any other big event! Many people who do scrapbooking or are making guest books also like the quick and efficient results from these cool and fun devices.
The first instant camera reached the market in 1948 during this time the Polaroid company became known worldwide for its very large but unique cameras. The company faced some competition in the market from Kodak but in 1986 Polaroid won the paten battle forcing Kodak to leave the instant camera market in that year.
After many other inventions including the Polavision and the first ever digital camera Polaroid were forced into administration and in December 2008 the company claimed bankruptcy. On the 5th of January, 2010, Polaroid partnered with Lady Gaga, appointing her as Creative Director for the company.
The launch of the new instant camera has gained a lot of interest in the market today and hence the revival of the instant camera was born. These days you will find two main players in this market and this lens is designed to give you an overview of all the instant cameras on the market today, it will describe the new technology as well as the cameras themselves.

A short history of the Polaroid
The earliest Polaroids used instant roll film, these cameras were discontinued around 1963, it came in two rolls one that was a positive developing agent and the other which was a negative these were loaded into the camera and came in three sizes 40, 30, and 20 series. Bar far the most popular of these cameras were the "pack film," once the picture was taken you would pull the photo out of the camera and after a few minutes peal the positive sheet from the negative one to reveal the developed picture.Today's instant cameras produces high quality, full-color glossy prints the paper features billions of tiny dye crystals embedded within it. These crystals are activated by heat pulses through the thermal print head within the camera. The paper is embedded with cyan, yellow, and magenta dye crystals. Applying the correct heat to the paper produces full color images to appear like magic on the paper.
The photo prints are dry-to-the-touch, water resistant and to make the most common uses of these fantastic cameras even better the paper also features an adhesive back. The Zink Paper is the truly revolutionary technology that is the magic behind the ZINK Zero Ink Technology.
For easy-to-use photo paper that prints vivid images, the Polaroid PoGo Zink Photo Paper has arrived. You must use Polaroid instant color film only. A film pack includes one black film cover and 10 film sheets. Do not remove the film from its inner bag until immediately before loading it into the camera and keep it out of direct heat.

This new instant camera is smaller, sexier and the photos are much easier to manage because they are single sheet construction with a handy adhesive backing. The fun is back in a modern slick look the camera requires 4-AA batteries and a Rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery to help with portability it also comes with a Wrist strap.

The camera automatically goes into energy saving mode after 5 minutes of no use this will turn off all the lamps automatically. The camera can be quickly turned on by pressing the shutter release button or pushing and pulling on the lens section. All batteries are included when replacement batteries are required be sure to use the same make of battery to ensure smooth running of your camera. Better yet get yourself rechargeable batteries they are so much more cost effective.

To sum it up these cameras are great fun, but if you are buying a camera so you can take them on holiday and snap loads and loads of pictures to share on Facebook afterwards this is not the camera for you. I think the people who will buy this will probably purchase it for a reason other then a primary photo camera, just as always the Polaroid is a all about fun and is great for getting quick prints.
With the digital revolution in photography this camera is not for everyone, it is for me though. If you are like me and like to have all the latest gadgets and love a bit of nostalgia, then don't wait any longer and get yourself one. With all that said the quality was much better than I had expected, the colors are vibrant and the focus is really sharp. The camera has four simple different settings for light conditions and an automatic flash which did a really good job for foreground lighting.
What I like about the instant cameras is all pictures are point and shoot no Photoshop or deleting after the button has been pressed. It is really getting you back to the basics where photography is concerned and your pictures are ready to share seconds after shooting (or not what ever the case may be).
Because the photo's are not cheap they are more precious than your typical digital photo they are also business card size which I like because it is perfect for pictures of your partner or family in your wallet or purse.
