If you are using a blog in your marketing one of the easiest ways to increase your traffic is to add a lead capture form in a prominent place. You may even try a flyin that has a delay.

People that are actually reading your content are much more likely to want to know more from you. You have already started the relationship process with the content on your blog.

Even better if you post regularly you can add a sibscription form to be notified when you add content. If you use Aweber you can set it up for them to do a broadcast every time you add a post.

It checks your RSS feed and sends the information for you when it finds new content. All you do is add the post and they'll take care of the rest.

If you are list building (and you should be list building) you should be using squeeze pages. A squeeze page is a web page that has as its only function the opting in of your visitors. That means nothing should be on your web page except for content and your opt in box. No Adsense, no PPC, no links to other articles or pages - nothing.

Your squeeze page should have a headline, some copy, and some bullets, then a really good reason to opt in to your list.

I think the very best reason to opt in to your list is a free ebook. That is what I use. It costs me nothing except the time to initially create it. That's it. So I can give it away time and time again.

Some of my free ebooks have been downloaded thousands of times. That's right - thousands of times. And probably thousands of times to go. And they cost me nothing additional.

Now your squeeze pages might have more or less copy depending on the source that the traffic is coming from. If someone clicks a short ad like PPC, you might need longer copy. If they come from a referral or somebody else's list, they may not need much more than a few bullets.

How do you find out? Test, test, and test some more.

The only way you really find out what works for you - not somebody else, but YOU - is to test. And test some more. If you aren't testing, you probably aren't very serious about your online business.

Before I begin to answer this question, in all fairness I have to tell you this. My entire business model is based on a squeeze page. Nobody gets into my website without going through my squeeze page. It is practically impossible to buy anything from me without going through my squeeze page. I believe very strongly in squeeze pages. I believe squeeze pages are incredible qualifying devices. My personal feeling is, if someone is not willing to give me their name and e-mail address, they will probably never be willing to give me their credit card and mailing address.

Now to answer your question. I make the assumption that you do not want to use a squeeze page because you already have a good-looking index page, or catalogue page or site, or you have some other reason that you particularly like using your current Web model. In this case, I can simply recommend that you place an opt in Web form on your index page and on every other page of your entire website.

Now, my experience with this is that a well-placed opt in form on a webpage produces approximately a 10% conversion rate to subscribers, on average. A well targeted squeeze page, on the other hand, can get up to 60 to 70% conversion rate to subscribers.

So the biggest question for you, is how much money do you make on your subscribers, versus how much money do you make on your visitors, but never subscribe. I know exactly how much I pay per visitor, and I know exactly how much I made per subscriber. And I choose to let the visitors go, and only deal with my subscribers, because the spread is so great.

That is a decision that only you can make. I earn a six-figure income through my squeeze pages. I'd obviously believe very strongly in a squeeze page model, but you have to do what works for you.
