Solutions can be as simple as changing the insulation that you would have used to a more environmentally friendly alternative, to increasing the amount of insulation in the building to allow the building to use less energy.

- The leading brand in Rock fibre insulation.

- Rockwool
- The leading brand in Rock fibre insulation. Rock fibre is a good all round insulation as it provides fire, acoustic and thermal insulation. As rock is a natural resource, there are environmental benefits for using a rock fibre solution. The material itself can also be recycled by the manufacturer.
- Grown Glass Fibre
- Crown are the leading brand name in glass fibre insulation. Glass fibre offers a variety of thermal performances, and is also a good insulant for acoustic and fire. Glass fibre also has a percentage (depending on which manufacturer) of recycled glass as it's raw material is environmentally friendly. The material itself can also be recycled by the manufacturer.

- Kingspan
- Kingspan offer Phenolic insulation as well as PIR/PUR. Being a petrochemical there are downsides when it comes to fire and the environment. Being a foam means that the acoustic performance isn't great either. However, PIR foams are very good thermally and in some studies, it can be demonstrated that over the life of the building, the environmental impact can be offset.
