Insulin Side Effects? Are Diabetes Symptoms Dangerous?

Ranked #948 in Healthy Living, #19,198 overall

Insulin, a lifeline with side effects! Insulin for diabetics! Diabetes Symptoms Dangerous!

Many diabetics are either partially or completely insulin dependent. Insulin has become their lifeline through a horrible disease. I, myself, have been insulin dependent since early adulthood. My pancreas production of insulin is almost as nil as a type 1 diabetic. However, I have learned that insulin is a dangerous drug with some side effects. This lens holds many links and basic information from a user of insulin to help you understand the drug. I am not a doctor and I am not offering any diagnosis but I will have many link to resources that you will find helpful.

You might want to add some information about how insulin isn't a drug you get to choose - if you need it then you will die without it. Yes, it might have side effects because you have to inject it, it's not your own molecule, etc - but the alternative is death. It appears the commenter above thought he should not take it (even though his doctor said he needs it) because of side effects, not fully understanding that it is necessary supplementation of a failed body system.
